Those Zany Muslims

I found this pretty interesting. Why is it that when I go to CNN to see what those Islam fundamentalists guys are doing, the stories that are top news are stuff like “Updated on Space Station Status” and “First Female Space Tourist Blasts Off”. I have to scroll way the fuck down to the bottom of the page just to find anything even remotely related to them, or the reaction to the Pope.

Aha. Finally a link popped up under latest news. The story basically says that the Pope is deeply sorry for their reaction, and Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood says it’s not a clear apology. Well fuck you then. Why should the Pope apologize for your stupid reaction to something? I actually read the entire speech that the Pope gave and really couldn’t find anything untrue about it. As a matter of fact, the Muslims are reacting exactly in the matter that they always do. With violence. Islam is a religion that is spread with violence and forced conversion. Not that Christians are much better. Killing for Jesus has been all the rage for centuries, but for the most part, that has been changing over the last couple hundred years as they become less “necessary” to daily life.

I would hate to misunderstand someones peaceful religious dialog, so I did look around and here are some links to their peaceful activities of late. And remember, these ARE things people are doing in the name of their religion, as instructed by their holy book and their religious leaders.

Al Qaeda threat over Pope speech

The Pope wants to have a clear and frank dialog with Muslims. The only dialog that they know is violence.

Possible Pope link to Nun’s murder. CNN called it her “death”. She was shot in the back. Seems like murder to me, but maybe that’s just semantics.

Pope’s remarks may lead to war. This is of course, according to peaceful Muslims who are trying to prevent it. Of course.

Somali cleric calls for Pope’s death. I would pretty much say that that proves the point of Emperor Paleologus about Islam. I have read several sites state that it proves the Pope’s point, but they are mistaken. This was not his point, he actually wants to be able to talk to and work with Muslims. He quoted several passages that were supposedly written down by the Byzantine Emperor.

To quote Sheikh Abukar Hassan Malin (the Somali cleric):

“We urge you Muslims wherever you are to hunt down the Pope for his barbaric statements as you have pursued Salman Rushdie, the enemy of Allah who offended our religion,” he said in Friday evening prayers.

“Whoever offends our Prophet Mohammed should be killed on the spot by the nearest Muslim,” Malin, a prominent cleric in the Somali capital, told worshipers at a mosque in southern Mogadishu.

“We call on all Islamic Communities across the world to take revenge on the baseless critic called the pope,” he said.

Damn. Sounds like a moderate lover of people and religions to me. But here’s another link that expresses the same sentiment: The proof of the necessity of killing anyone who curses the Prophet or finds fault with him. So basically if I feel that Mohammed was a fricking idiot, it is necessary to kill me. And I thought Christians were intolerant.

Iran seminaries shut in protest at Pope remarks

I just ordered a free copy of the Koran for CAIR because I am interested in getting some more information and learning for myself what it is about. Of course, now that I have signed up for it, I am sure I am on some government watchlist now. Seriously though, all I know about Islam is what I have read, and watched on TV. My biggest problem is because of all the extremists and terrorists that have killed so many people in the name of their religion at the ORDERS of their political and religious leaders.

Obviously anti-Muslim, I found this article at the British National Party web site. I happen to agree with it 100%. Islam is the Menace.

2 throughts on "Those Zany Muslims"

  1. “Islam is a religion that is spread with violence and forced conversion. Not that Christians are much better. Killing for Jesus has been all the rage for centuries, but for the most part, that has been changing over the last couple hundred years as they become less “necessary” to daily life.”

Kudo’s for recognizing that Christianity also has a history of violence–although events in Africa, Eastern Europe and other parts of the world don’t seem to indicate any major changes–never mind what “necessary” means.

There is a difference, however, between saying that the religion should be (according to the words of its prophet) spread by violence, and saying that some people do spread it that way.

I don’t claim to be an expert on either Christianity or Islam–however those people who are experts on Islam say that the religion not only does’t advocate violence, but that it actually bends over in the opposite direction.

In fact, the Qur’an at no point urges that religious faith be imposed on anyone by force. This is what it says about the religions:

    http://www.juancole.com/2006/09/pope-gets-it-wrong-on-islam-pope.html:

‘ [2:62] Those who believe (in the Qur’an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians– any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. ‘

The idea of holy war or jihad (which is about defending the community or at most about establishing rule by Muslims, not about imposing the faith on individuals by force) is also not a Quranic doctrine.

  2. I meant necessary as in the Catholic Church no longer being so necessary in people’s daily lives as it used to be. It has to use other means than “because I say so” in order to get people to pay attention.

Thanks for the other information. That’s one of the reasons I ordered a copy.
