Updated 10/14/08 – Casey Anthony has been indicted by a grand jury on seven counts including 1st Degree Murder and is in police custody. More info here.
I ran across a report earlier that a cadaver dog might have gotten a hit near the airport. and apparently MissingAbducted is hearing it’s one of Gale St. John’s dogs.

According to FOX News someone close to the Caylee Anthony investigation confirmed that there were significant levels of chloroform found in the car used by Casey Anthony. The very same car in which it has been identified that Caylee Anthony’s dead body was kept in the trunk.

This is the same car that was found abandoned that investigators said contained traces of human decomposition.
Also sources said one of the computers taken as evidence from the Anthony home showed that someone had been searching for information on chloroform and how to use it.

Chloroform was developed back in the 1800s and used to be used as an anesthetic. Breathing it in depresses the nervous system and can cause dizziness or unconsciousness. You can also die if too much is inhaled.
The Anthony’s also met with high profile lawyer Mark NeJame today to discuss the case. The family feels like the media has lost the focus of the search for Caylee Anthony. They have not retained him as their attorney but he does say that he would make himself available.
All along I have assumed that Caylee died through an accident. Drowning, overheating in the car, whatever. Then Casey just mishandled EVERYTHING about it from the time she should have called 911 all the way up until today. This changes everything and is very unsettling to me. It throws and even more unknown into the picture and could point at something very dark. It also gives the defense something as well to point at the fact that maybe Caylee was kidnapped…
One of the news channels, WFTV Channel 6 mentioned during it’s 6pm news cast that a cadaver dog had alerted in an area near the airport and then showed a bit of home video from the spot, promising more details at 11pm. That most likely means nothing substantial was found but they may have to do tests to see what’s up with the area.

Big news in the search for Caylee Anthony today. While they have not found her body yet Tim Miller and EquuSearch were considering calling it a day, packing their stuff and heading out somewhere else in the country where they want his help. Judging by the shitty turnout the last five days it’s obvious that nobody in Orlando wants/needs him, or at least it looks that way. Tim Miller believes it’s because people are losing faith in the Anthony Family. It’s not like they haven’t given the public plenty of reasons to lose faith.

Tim Miller said he’s upset because Cindy Anthony keeps saying there is evidence Caylee is alive and was given to a friend. If that’s the case, he wonders why she called and asked for his help and wonders why he should continue searching.
If it wasn’t for the sheriff calling and offering to provide assistance, he might have taken his search team somewhere else.
“If that is the truth, that she gave this child to a family to take care of Caylee, I’m upset because we have spent $28,000 for this case and we’re getting calls from all over the country that want our service that has a legitimate missing child,” Miller told Eyewitness News.

Orange County sheriff Kevin Beary is donating $5,000 in seized drug money to EquuSearch in order to assist them in the search. According to the sheriff Tim Miller and associates have been an invaluable help in the search for Caylee Anthony and their search efforts have eliminated several areas of interest to law enforcement. In addition to the $5k the sheriff’s department will also be providing patrols and airboats to help in the search as well.
They are also going to have a drone that can fly over areas and take pictures of areas and possibly notice differences that most of us would not see just by looking at it. Today the lead investigator John Allen as well as several FBI agents, have been searching beside Texas EquuSearch in their search.
The sheriff also announced a bunch more help coming their (TES) way. 80 alumni from the Civilian Police Academy, some civilian agency members as well as members of the Moose Lodge will all be coming out to help in the search.
Hopefully the extra manpower will give TES the help they need to find Caylee Anthony.
The Sheriff’s Department also filed some more charges against Casey Anthony as well. Two counts of writing a bad check, two counts of petty theft and two counts of fraudulent use of personal identification. Doesn’t look like Casey is getting out anytime soon, regardless of whether or not they ever find Caylee.
In even weirder news related to the case Leonard Padilla was on Nancy Grace again last night. I don’t generally watch Nancy Grace so I missed it and heard about it for the first time when someone emailed me this morning. Unfortunately I’ve been at work all day and haven’t had the chance to verify it. Anyhow, Leonard had this to say last night;

“When the FBI, who has got some of the finest labs in the world, comes back with their DNA, it’s going to shock the world over something that Lee, Casey and Cindy have known since Wednesday when they released their preliminary findings. And also, the dumpster a mile and quarter down from the boyfriend Tony’s house is going to play a big part in this.

He was also on the show last week and had some comments to make about having bailed Casey Anthony out of jail as well;

After reading it (the 400 pages released to the public), I don’t believe I would have talked my nephew Tony Padilla into posting the bond. And I don’t think I would have come to Orlando after reading that. I mean, I’m still hoping that little girl’s alive, but there’s a lot of information in those 400 pages that would lead those people to believe something different

From the Associate Press:

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The mother of a missing Florida toddler no longer has an offer of immunity from prosecutors to help in the search.
The state attorney’s office said it had not heard back from Casey Anthony before the offer expired Tuesday morning.
Anthony’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to a phone and e-mail message for comment.
Investigators have been searching for 3-year-old Caylee Anthony since mid-July when she was reported missing after not being seen for about a month.
Prosecutors had extended an offer of limited immunity to the mother in exchange for cooperation.
Investigators have called Casey Anthony a person of interest in Caylee’s disappearance. She faces charges of child neglect, obstruction and making false statements in the case.

So Casey Anthony has apparently turned down the limited immunity offer from Orange County. That kind of sucks because I was really hoping that they would find Caylee. From a defendants viewpoint though it was the smart thing to do. The offer was only to exclude any statements she gave investigators, not any evidence gathered from the investigation itself, so she still would have been charged and all evidence admissible in court, just not her statements to police.
Cindy Anthony had an interview with MSNBC this morning and when she got home I guess she talked to someone from WESH. She still says that she believes Caylee is alive and that Casey doesn’t need immunity, tell everyone to keep looking for her (Caylee).
Here is the video from the Today show. You get to see the freakish woman that dragged her kids to protest at the beginning of the video. Perhaps someone needs to look at the places she’s taking her kids. Teaching them how to break the law isn’t the brightest thing to do. Erika Courtney (the woman who was protesting) even stopped by a blog dedicated to finding Caylee and commented in a thread defending herself. No offense Erika, I can completely understand your being upset but harassing the family just ain’t smart.
Scared Monkeys has some pics up from the TES search over the weekend.

WESH also states that Orange County is also going to file additional charges against Casey Anthony dealing with money she’s accused of taking from family members. If she did use her mom’s credit card and it was not authorized the credit card company and the state can file charges regardless of what her parents want. They also have more to say about the case;

Until detectives can get probable cause to determine how the child died and her body ended up in the trunk, sources close to the investigation told WESH 2 there won’t be homicide-related charges filed.

On that interview with MSNBC on the Today Show with Matt Lauer Cindy had this to say:

“I believe Caylee is with someone that [her mother] Casey had trusted,” Cindy Anthony told TODAY co-host Matt Lauer on Tuesday. “And I believe that Casey has been, you know, betrayed.
“It’s unfortunate that it’s going to take the average citizen to bring Caylee back home to me alive, and not the authorities.”

According to FOX News;

(FBI) laboratory evidence, along with additional evidence that has not been made public, leads investigators to the belief there is a strong probability that Caylee is deceased,” the sheriff’s office told The Associated Press on Monday. “If any evidence to the contrary is provided, it will be vigorously pursued.

Jose Baez has released a statement on reports of the DNA tests that confirm Caylee Anthony was in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car:

“You have to wonder about the reliability and accuracy of any test when law enforcement feels the need to leak it to the media.
“I won’t comment on the specifics of any report I have not had the opportunity to review or have challenged by independent experts.”

Want to know what’s really pissing me off about this whole situation? I mean aside from the fact that there’s a deal little two-year-old somewhere and somebody needs to be held accountable?
The protesters. These people are really starting to get irritating and I hope someone gets locked up for trespassing or terroristic threats real soon. This one lady, Erika Courtney is protesting even though the law has warned them. She even had the balls to bang on the Anthony’s front door and demand that they tell her the truth. Her entire family came with her as well. Orange County sheriff’s deputies finally came by and cited her for trespassing. This is just going too far.
A couple of the local TV stations followed the crazy woman around and showed her basically breaking down on television. She told them that she considered it a lesson for her children. What, that if you act like a fucking moron you get to be on television?
I think that the Anthonys are in serious denial, know more than they are saying and even in a way may have obstructed justice but I do believe that all they really want is to find Caylee. They are going to be in serious shock when/if Caylee’s little body is found, particularly the grandmother Cindy. Everyone thinks they are being rude and ungrateful. How the fuck would you act if your grandchild had been missing for three months? So what if George was taking care of his lawn? Perhaps he was just trying to get some semblance of normalcy in his life and that was his only way to do it. People grieve in weird ways and not only are they already grieving over the loss of their grandchild but they are grieving over the loss of their daughter as well and probably blaming themselves. Maybe they should but it’s not my fucking job to decide that.
I am sure I’ve made some snarky comments about them but crap. We, meaning everybody that’s pissing all over George and Cindy Anthony, should be fucking ashamed of ourselves. Not that they don’t have their faults though. They make crazy statement and people think they are crazy. Funny how that works. It’s probably one of the main reasons for the low turnout in the hunt for Caylee with TES this weekend.
I don’t know. I waver back and forth between wanting to be supportive of her family and wanting to vilify them as the rest of the press is doing. They make it pretty difficult at times to really know what’s going on with them and show any empathy I guess. The main thing is to keep my eye on the ball. That ball happens to be a little girl named Caylee.

No real updates this morning. I just got online to answer a couple of commenters and to surf the news sites this morning. All eyes seem to be on the impending hit of Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Hannah right now so not much else is in the news.
I came across a web site that has already posted Casey Anthony’s address in jail so you can send her fan mail. I am not going to repost it here because it serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever and is fucking childish. Use the energy it would take to send her hate mail to do something constructive.
Local 6 is saying that even though the sheriff’s department released the findings they are still not ready to confirm or concede the fact that Caylee Anthony is dead.
Have the police found a body? It has been rumored for the last few days that they have and even one of the reporters the other day asked the rep from the OCSO which they denied but Stacy sent me a link last night to a podcast that the psychic folks, Brian and Gail released which seems to point to them finding something. I am pretty skeptical about the whole psychic thing as I have mentioned but this isn’t something that she ‘saw’, it’s something that they actually stumbled upon.
Listen to the podcast and let me know what you think.

Regardless of whether you believe that the psychics are on to something or are full of bullshit, they have been looking and seem to have a bunch of nice folks helping out as well. You can check out the updates over here.

8-31-2008 According to WESH Orlando investigators have finally come out and said that the dead body that was in Casey Anthony’s trunk was definitely that of Caylee Anthony. The story says that what clinched the decision that it was Caylee was not the stain in the trunk but the strands of hair that tested for human decomposition.
While obviously the police already knew this it is the first time that law enforcement has come out and said it which signals a change in how they will start handling the case. This is no longer a missing person case but quite possibly a homicide and they are saying that we are now looking for a dead child, something that most of us have assumed even while we held hope that the child was alive. Although the tests show that she is dead it does not give any kind of probably cause of death.
The grandmother, Cindy Anthony is demanding an apology from the Orange County Sheriff concerning the rearrest and the way it was handled.
Texas EquuSearch was somewhat disappointed in the turnout over the weekend in the search for Caylee. They apparently have a normal turnout in the thousands but not even two hundred people turned out to help them this weekend. Shows how much folks down there really care. I certainly wouldn’t expect the entire population of Orlando to show up but as much discussion as this is generating you would think that there would be more than 200 concerned people out there.
