Back at the beginning of the year I wrote several posts about Meredith Emerson, her murder and the man who decapitated her, Gary Michael Hilton. He is currently in prison and was extradited to Florida back in the summer to face charges in the murder of Cheryl Dunlap. This isn’t about him though, it’s about Meredith Emerson.

A quarter-mile long stretch of asphalt that runs into the woods in Gwinnet County where she used to run with her dog has been dedicated as the Emerson Trail.
Some friends of Meredith Emerson founded “Right to Hike, Inc” to support causes that Emerson considered important such as providing hikers and outposts with GPS transmitters so that they can send signals to emergency personnel if needed.

That is awesome especially because GPS devices are so expensive.
