Erin Maxwell Case Review Made Public

Last August Erin Maxwell was murdered. It was determined that she was stranglked and had also been sexually assaulted prior to her death. I’m not really going to get into the case much here because I have already detailed it in several other entries over the last few months. Basically her step-brother has been charged with murder and her father and step-mother have been charged with child endangerment because of the deplorable living conditions she was forced to endure over the last few years.

In addition to the family there has been a huge outcry about the way that the Oswego County Family and Children Services handled the case, particularly since they had been called several times about the Maxwells.

The State Office of Children and Family Services reviewed the case and have released a 14 page document that pretty much says that Oswego County dropped the ball and did a crappy job in the case of Erin Maxwell and had they actually done something she might still be alive. You can find the report here.
