Denise Flanary Threw the Baby Away
Back on the 15th of August a dead baby girl was found in a dumpster by a homeless guy looking for bottles and stuff to recycle. After an investigation it was found to be the baby of Denise Louise Flanary of Medford, Oregon. A Jackson County Grand Jury indicted the 19-year-old woman of second-degree abuse of a corpse and concealing the birth of an infant.
Denise was arrested yesterday at her home in Medford on those charges and was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bond. The abuse charge is a felony and punishable by a max sentence of five years and a fine up to $125,000. She made bail the same day and was released.
On the MySpace page that Denise logged into most recently her status says “didn’t have a great day, good thing GOD is on my side…Hopefully tomorrow will be much better”. Somehow I doubt it Denise.
Here’s the thing that gets me. Oregon is one of those states that has a safe haven law, which means that you can leave a baby at a hospital, birthing center, sheriff’s office, police or fire station NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
