Washoe District Judge Robert Perry ruled on a motion earlier today from the defense to delay the trial of James Biela, the man accused of raping and murdering 19-year-old Brianna Denison back in January of 2008. The public defender had asked for the judge to delay the trial yet another three months so that she can read the 35,000 pages of evidence.

The judge ruled to keep the trial on schedule, which is supposed to start on February 22nd. It’s still possible, according to the DA, that the trial may end up being delayed if the defense isn’t ready when the trial date arrives.
