The Loss of a Child – Caylee Anthony

Updated 10/14/08 – Casey Anthony has been indicted by a grand jury on seven counts including 1st Degree Murder and is in police custody. More info here.

Update August 29th 10:50PM – Casey has been re-arrested for writing bad checks.
I’ve been doing stories, actually more reports, on missing people ever since Natalee Holloway disappeared in 2005. Something about them just draws me and I have to write about them. I don’t know what it is exactly but I guess it’s a minor obsession or something. Could be worse. I could be writing about goat fucking rastafarians all the time. That tends to get old though…

Anyway, after having watched the video of George Anthony this evening throwing shit off of his property and getting into it with the little idgit that was camped out front, chairs, umbrella, table and even a little U.S. flag, I got to thinking about how hard it must be on him and the rest of the family. There are a couple of schools of thought on the matter. Lots of folks think that Cindy and George Anthony are ‘in on it’ and trying to cover up for Casey Anthony and whatever heinous crime she has committed and a smaller portion of people are saying ‘damn, it must suck to be her parents’. I sort of straddle the middle. I think that they are just heartbroken over the loss of their grand-daughter and regardless of whether they believe Casey or not they are just trying to keep some kind of sanity and hope amidst everything else.
Little fucking geek camped out in front of my house? Yeah, I would have to kick his ass out too, maybe back the fuck over him as I left the house the little douchebag. While I do think that the media has overplayed this a bit they are just doing what we as Americans ask them to do. If it wasn’t Caylee the Anthonys would be glued to the TV watching just like everyone else.

Hell, the reporters even have a freaking mobile webcam out front. It looks like it’s showing the same green chairs that George Anthony threw earlier so maybe it’s the guys from FOX that got thrown off his lawn…

I have to admit, I even watched it for a couple of minutes but had to close the page. Just too damned freaky for me. I know there are folks that are probably keeping that baby open 24/7 so if you see something cool let me know but I have to say I think it’s pretty fucked up. There are lots of people commenting over at the FOX Orlando page that are talking about nothing but these folks and when the webcam went down for a few minutes it was like the second coming of christ or something.

OK, I just read over here that it was protesters and not the media that was on his lawn. Protesters? Yeah, they are protesting and want Casey back in jail. Fucking douchebags. If they want to help they need to go out and find a little two year old, even if it’s just her body. Fucking protesting. Targets.

Supposedly there is a large crowd of protesters headed to the house to demand that Casey Anthony be returned to jail. Mob rule. Sort of like the Salem witch trials ain’t it? That’s why she’s innocent until proven guilty and as far as I am concerned, whther she is guilty or not if you are one of the people headed to her house or wish you were, you are a fucking douchebag and I hope that they lock the lot of the fuckers up. Then again, is what they are doing so different than what we are, just on a more immediate scale?

Regardless of what is going on, I guess the bottom line is that the Anthonys are in so much denial about their daughter and granddaughter that it is just blinding them to the truth. I’m sure we all know someone like that. I still feel sorry for them though.

Enough of my bitching, I know there’s only a couple of you that come here for that. Earlier when I updated the entry on Leonard Padilla Returning (NOT) Casey Anthony to Jail I mentioned some emails that had been sent concerning the limited immunity offer. Here they are…

  1. Anyone who has experienced such horrific loss can tell you that they lose their mind, at least temporarily. I really believe that people in such a situation cannot be held accountable for their actions. It is hard to be rational in the face of such an irrational experience. The media are making the situation that much more unbearable.
