Texas EquuSearch continued their hunt for Caylee Anthony today but they had help from the Orange County Sheriff’s department today. Law Enforcement sent up their helicopter with infrared equipment courtesy of TES in order to help map the search area and look for things like disturbed areas or fresh tire tracks.
They are also asking for help from the public in the search, which should have been done six weeks ago when Caylee was first reported missing. How the heck are they going to look for fresh tire tracks after Fay passed through the area? I suppose it’s possible that they could still find something but I think it’s too little too late. At the very least it makes their search that much harder.
There were about 150 searchers today and they mainly focused on a wooded area north of the airport.

Texas EquuSearch started looking for Caylee Anthony today with a group of about 175 volunteers. Not quite as many as they had been hoping but it does show some folks care and want the child to be found. How many of the folks camped outside the Anthony household last night cheering when Casey was arrested do you think took part int he actual work of the search? Maybe I have less faith in humanity than I should but I doubt many of them took part or if they did they won’t be back. Natural human curiosity may have brought some of them out but that wears off fast.
TES and the volunteers searched some of the swamps in the Orlando area as well as around the airport using an airboat as well as horses and ATVs.
TES has taken part in over 900 searches since their inception and the founder Tim Miller said,

We still have that glimmer of hope that Caylee is still out there alive but our experience in 920-plus searches is that this is probably not going to end up good.

They are also looking for volunteers for another search tomorrow morning and will be meeting early Sunday at the Holiday Inn located at 5750 TG Lee Blvd. If you are local and really want to help out, that’s the place to be.
