Mom Took Her Kid on a Murderous Field Trip

Update – Eva Daley has been sentenced to 15 to life for driving her son and his friends to a skate park in order for them to kill a 13-year-old gang rival.
This is actually not a new story, it happened back in June of 2007 but Eva Daley is on trial right now so I thought it would be a good time to post about it.
Back in June of last year Eva loaded up her car with her 14-year-old son and his gang-member friends from the neighborhood and took them to the Skate Park. Good thing right? Letting the kids get some exercise and time outside away from the old TV and X-Box. All except for the part that they were going to kill Jose Cano, a 13-year-old boy.
The group of boys chased down Cano and beat him to death with their fists and knives.
Cano’s brother called 911 but when no ambulance came after half an hour he drove him to the hospital himself where he was pronounced dead.
What kind of mother takes children to murder another child? Bottom-feeding trash, that’s what kind. As adults we are supposed to steer our children away from violence and bad actions, not encouraging them. Looks like she has an entire group of trashy friends and family as well. Outside the courtroom supporters of Daly and the dead child got into a screaming match and one of Daley’s supporters punched a camera man. Hope they brought their kids to show them how to solve problems, the fucking douchebags.

  1. Well, I can tell that the kid is a reflection of his parent. I don’t understand why a mother with participate in planning to kill another human being. Why did it take so long for the ambulance to show up or not show up? I really can’t stand by and support anyone that’s guilty. I hope that a writer pick up this story because I would love to hear what happen in this case.

  2. This is the first time I’ve heard of this incident! What a horrible story! I hope she never gets out of jail! What happened to her kids? Where they convicted of anything yet?

Her son received the same sentence as she did if I remember correctly, as did at least one of the other kids that participated. Not sure about the rest but it most likely explains at one of the sourced links.

  4. As is often the case Richard, this is the first I’ve heard of this story. Which is why I hang out here.
The kids were minors, so I’m surprised that the mother didn’t get a heavier sentence. Granted, she didn’t actually commit the act of violence, they did, so that may be the reason.
