Update – Police have identified a body found this morning as Erika Yancey. More at the bottom of the post.
Police were called to 2320 Dulles Station Boulevard on Monday, November 17 shortly after 9 a.m. to investigate suspicious circumstances. The property manager of Camden Dulles Station reported finding what appeared to be a trail of blood leading from the parking lot to a dumpster.
An investigation led detectives to determine that a resident of the apartment complex was missing.
Police are asking the public for their assistance in locating Erika Yancey, a 22-year-old, black female. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. She has short, dark hair, possibly with blonde highlights. She might be wearing a navy blue and gray, American Eagle sweatshirt and gray JB sweatpants.
Yancey’s 2007 Hyundai, Elantra is also missing. It is a gray, four door, displaying Virginia tags KGZ4951.
Yancey was last seen on Sunday, November 16 at about 8:15 a.m., in the area of Dulles airport.

Updated – Police found Erika Yancey’s car around 2am this morning as well as the body of a deceased female inside it. An autopsy done today confirmed that it was in fact Erika Yancey and that she died from stab wounds to her upper body. The missing persons case has now turned into a Homicide. How terrible. I wonder if the police were able to determine if the blood was hers–ie, is she the suspected victim or the suspected criminal? Either way, what a shame and such a waste of a beautiful young woman’s life.
