Neveah Amyah Buchanan has not been found yet but MyFoxDetroit reported last night that the Monroe police found a hunting knife with human blood on it in George Kennedy’s tackle box. It has been sent to the state crime lab for testing.
A reward in the search for Neveah has also been started. It’s now been 60 or so hours since Neveah was last seen. This is starting to not look very good, although there have been several ‘sightings‘. One of them has been (the Easton Town Center Mall) corroborated by a second person now. That doesn’t mean it was actually her but it does lend to a bit of hope in the search. The name Neveah is not as rare as one would think so it might be an entirely different little girl that was seen. The FBI is treating it as a serious lead though and attempting to follow up on it.

Last night at around 8:30 p.m. 24-year-old Jennifer Orise Buchanan (MySpace) reported her 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan missing to the Monroe, Michigan police. She told law enforcement that Nevaeh was playing with a friend of her’s in the apartment complex when her friend had to go inside for dinner. While she was eating Neviaeh continued to play with her scooter. When the mother went to get the scooter out of the parking lot there was no sign of little Nevaeh. At some point in there the mother must have notified Jennifer Buchanan, but I haven’t yet found out when or how she was notified.
Nevaeh Amyah Buchanan is 3′ 8″ tall, 45 pounds with brown hair and
brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red, white and blue shirt and
knee-length jeans with no shoes or socks.
The
Michigan State Police issued an Amber Alert last night for Buchanan but
as here are no witnesses they aren’t yet sure how or if she was
abducted. Police are questioning two people in the disappearance right
now. One of the persons of interest hasn’t been named but the other one
is Jennifer Buchanan’s boyfriend, who oh by the way is a registered sex
offender who shouldn’t have even been around there. George David
Kennedy has been a registered sex offender for the last seven years and
has several parole rules that he’s supposed to be following but
obviously isn’t.
Some of the rules he has to follow include:
1. Responsible adult present if with child 17 or under
2. No romantic relationship with person associated w/child *
3. Not purchase/possess/use sexually stimulating material
4. Sex offender treatment program as approved by agent (parole officer)
5. 1,000 feet from schools and child care centers without approval
6. 1,000 feet from parks, public pools, playgrounds, arcades
7. Must not have childs clothing, toys or games
8. Can’t possess or use photographic equipment
9. register as a sex offender
10. can’t own a computer or any other device capable of connecting to the Internet
11. Can’t use sex phone numbers or services
12. Has to stay away from sex entertainment bars and clubs (strip clubs, etc…)
13. Can’t move
(relocate)
14. Can’t use or possess alcohol and can’t frequent any place that serves it.
15. Has to complete a substance abuse program
16. Can’t own a cell phone or pager
17. Can’t leave the state
These are in addition to the normal rules for a convicted felon.
According
to the reports I’ve read, which include interviews with Jennifer
Buchanan, she has been friends with Kennedy for several years and knew
he is a sex offender. As far as I am concerned that makes her guilty of
putting her child in a situtation she should not have been. He was
found guilty of Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree
(Multiple Variables) and Attemped Children – Accosting for Immoral
Purposes. He is suppose to register until March of 2027. He has also
been jailed for 2nd Degree Home Invasion and 4th Degree Criminal Sexual
Conduct. One other thing that I find scary is that there are 5
registered sex offenders within half a mile of the Buchanan’s
apartment. Thats in addition to the fact that Jennifer Buchanan got out of prison in January, also for home invasion.
In
addition to the two that are in police custody Nevaeh Buchanan’s father
has also been ordered to take a polygraph test. He reportedly hasn’t
seen his daughter in three years.
A video over at Toledo News 11 says that Law Enforcement is currently or was recently searching a quarry in Monroe near the Motel 7 where Kennedy lives.
Anyone with information relating to this case has been asked to
call 911 or the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department at 743-243-7070
Barrett Andrews from FOX Toledo is also updating his Twitter stream as the search goes along, although there hasn’t been anything from him in several hours.

I am praying her dad took her, but it’s unlikely. I think we need a law stipulating that women with children that choose to be around predators must forfeit their parental rights. I am so fed up with these female birthing objects!
I also hope that her father took her but it seems unlikely to me as well right now.
Maybe I’m just overprotective but who the hell lets their five-year-old run around an apartment complex unsupervised, and with no shoes or socks at that. My youngest i six and we will just now let her play outside in our yard without us being there and that’s if her 11-year-old sister is outside, or her friends. Even then if I can’t see or hear her I go looking.
My youngest child is 11, and I still don’t let them play outside by themselves. Maybe it’s a, “it can’t happen to me” belief. But, time and time again, its proved that it can happen to you.
I hope that this time I am posting the right place.. I am new to this site so.. bear with me.. a few years ago.. I entered one of those new ideas contests online, I believe it was sponsered by MSN and Visa.. I didn’t win, but a few years later.. a friend and I called the number listed on the John Walsh show and pitched to them the idea for this, which basically was a watch/necklace which could be worn by a child, and all they would have to do was press a button, in the event of an abduction.. Never heard back from them, and this was a few years ago, but my thought is.. since President Obama is giving free cell phones to those who cannot afford one for emergencies.. why not take it a step further, and give all kids the technology to halt a pedophile in his tracks with the press of a button! Make the technology that they use for this amber watch.. available to all kids.. with just one click, (I am not sure ecactly how theirs works) but with one click,.. the child could activate a gps system.. and let parents, and law enforcement… know that they are in trouble.. and track their whereabouts…. I am sure Mr Obama, if you want to give free phones to adults to use in case of emergencies, you also want children to have the same option… I know that I for one, would feel much safer, knowing that my kids had this option, should they run into one of the upteem sexual predators that the judical system for some reason, keeps letting out over and over again, knowing that there is no cure for their sickness, and that they will reoffend over and over again.. Come on!! Cell phones for the aldults… Alarms free for our kids!!!!!!!!

I was out searching for Nevaeh, I too thought the same about who lets there child outside alone. But, once you enter there, it is very safe. My conclusion is that it was someone who knew the Mom, Jennifer, and she mysteriously was running in and out the front door all day but never explained what she was doing when asked by her Mother. Next thing you know the little girl is gone? Yea, it was her low life fiends, but she is involved in one way or another.
