Krystal Whitehead had to pick up some hair coloring stuff from a beauty supply store last week. It was probably a quick trip in and out but she thought enough to pull her 11-year-old daughter out of the car to take inside with her, but left her 5-month-old son locked in the car with the windows cracked.
A Forsyth County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the area and was alerted to the little boy by a shopper in the parking lot. The deputy found the baby in the car and got him out, summoning paramedics. In the meantime Krystal had gotten word that police were in the parking lot, which amazingly enough jogged her memory to the fact that she had forgotten her son.
The baby is OK. He was taken to the hospital and checked out, while his mother was arrested on charges of cruelty to children. I don’t know if she has gotten out on her $22k bond yet but as of this past Wednesday she was still sitting in the Forsyth County Jail.

Your info is not right. so you may need to go back an get the scoop a little better! how can she have a 11-month old an a 5 month -old baby? I am her sister an i know. But what Krystal did was a terrible mistake. an i wish everyone would just leave it alone. It could happened to any of us. Krystal is a wonderful person an loves her kids alot. people just need to start worring about the ones that do things like tht one purpose. That should have said 11-year-old. Thanks for catching that. I’m sorry that your sister is going through a hard time as a result of her actions and have no doubt that she loves her kids but the fact that she really forgot doesn’t change a thing. She is incredibly lucky that the baby wasn’t seriously hurt. There are too many stories about children that have ended up in the hospital or worse after they were forgotten in the car this time of the year. As a parent you have to be super-vigilant and there is nothing more important than the welfare of your children.
I know Krystal personally too, and am in fact living with one of her best friends. It is rediculous that her face has to be posted all over the place when she made a mistake which she would not normally make. She is one of the most amazing moms I know out there, and this is not like her. Besides which I can only imagine she is eating herself up with grief as is, so the press should leave her be. She has already been punished enough through this ordeal and if called to be a character witness I would gladly stand up for her. I hope she gets off using the no-lo plea, maybe get it knocked down to community service. Good luck Krystal, love you and your family, best wishes through this ordeal

I’m sure she is a good person and hopefully this was a wake-up call for her. Our kids are and should be the number one most important thing we have going on in our lives.
