Back in 1999 a 13-year-old girl in Clayton County was raped at her home by a black man wearing a black stocking over his head. At the time the man was never found but just recently law enforcement made a DNA match with a man who is currently in Valdosta State Prison in Georgia. Clayton County has charged 35-year-old Michael Bernard Heath with Aggravated Child Molestation, Sodomy, Sexual Battery, Burglary and False Imprisonment.
It looks like Heath, who would have gotten out of prison in March, will be spending some more quality time there. His record includes Aggravated Assault, Theft and Burglary. He spent two months in prison in 1992, two years from 1993 until 1995, three months in 1999 and has been there since January of 2000. The greater part of the last 17 years has been spent locked up and hopefully once this goes to trial he’ll be in there at least another 17 years.
