Manhunt Underway for Brentson Bernard Thomas

There is a manhunt currently underway in McDonough, GA. It’s subject? 32-year-old Brentson Bernard Thomas. He’s currently facing two counts of Aggravated Assault and one of Murder. He is also wanted in Clayton County as well as Miami-Dade County, FL on charges of Assault.

McDonough Sheriff’s deputies had the Hadden Place Apartments blocked off on Friday afternoon, November 4th looking for the man after he shot two men, killing one of them, 33-year-old Michael Brown III. The Georgia State Patrol found his car the next morning, a 2020 gray Toyota Camry. Thomas is 5’11” tall with New Orleans Saints neck tattoos and was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Two people are in custody and police are looking for a third for allegedly helping Thomas. 29-year-old Dimarie Ayanna Coulter is wanted for Hindering Apprehension or Punishment of a Criminal. She is 5’7″, 135lbs, has black and brown hair and brown eyes. According to the police she is known to wear wigs. The two people in custody are Joseph A. Kimber and Lashonda Y. Lay.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Crimestoppers Atlanta are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the capture and indictment of Bernard Thomas.

The man injured in the shooting is a detention officer and is still in the hospital critically hurt but stable. Police are still trying to determine what led to the events of the shooting.

According to the family of Michael Brown III, he and Thomas were childhood friends and are not sure why Thomas turned on him and shot him. Brown worked as a maintenance man at the apartment complex where he was shot.

On Facebook it looks as if Thomas goes by the handle goodmoney_block, investigators having released a social media post he made to Facebook. It looks like he has a profile on Facebook here, but nothing posted publicly since 2020.

Haven’t really had time to dig in to this and find any more social media accounts but will update this as soon as I can.

Updated 11/18/22 – After ten days of being on the run, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force along with Bibb County deputies, the GA State Patrol and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force located Thomas at a motel on Riverside Drive in Macon, GA and arrested him on Sunday without incident.

Police are still looking for Dimarie Coulter, who is wanted on charges of hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.
