As well she should be.I came across an update on ex-teacher Cynthia Horvath this morning and for some reason I thought I had written about her back in October after she was finally caught but since I can’t find anything here apparently I had thought about it but never written the post. You can find the story over at The Weekly Vice from back in October though if you are interested.45-year-old Cynthia Horvath used to be an English teacher and a cheerleading coach at the Warner Christian School in Daytona. She got into a relationship for several months with one of her 17-year-old students at the school and was eventually caught.

This week America’s Most Wanted has a huge show with a ton of scumbags just waiting for you folks to help catch them Check out the show Saturday night. I’ll be at work so may have to record it this week. There are also several missing children we are trying to recover so let’s bring them home this week.
Devon Russell: Smuggling drugs, weapons and illegal aliens is big business along U.S. shores. In South Florida, federal, state and local law enforcement are taking on smugglers; since 2005, more than 30 innocent men and women have died at sea near Florida’s coastline as a result of smuggling. Cops are now searching for a key player in the ring, Devon Russell.
Henry Pierre: Just days after an AMW tipster led the Royal Bahamian Police to suspected smuggler Henry Pierre, reports from the Bahamas say that the accused killer and alien smuggler was set free, but rearrested a short time later. The fugitive’s initial release came as a complete surprise to cops in Florida, as U.S. officials were working vigorously to extradite Pierre to face charges on American soil.Rosa’s Story: Rosa is a composite of several real women, just a few of the 50,000 people a year who are smuggled into the U.S. and treated as slaves. These victims of human trafficking are forced into a variety of exploitative situations including prostitution and hard labor. The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 was designed to protect these victims as well as to prosecute human traffickers.
Patricio Sosa: Human trafficking is an awful crime, but for some it’s big business — and the FBI says when the Cadena-Sosa family saw there was money to be made, they jumped right in. Patricio Sosa was one of the ringleaders of an operation that imported women and children from Mexico and forced them into prostitution in Florida, according to agents — and now law enforcement wants to put the brakes on this alleged trafficker.
Craig Oliver: When AMW last told you about scammer Craig Oliver, nearly a dozen tipsters recognized him as Danny Sullivan, a construction foreman in Phoenix, Ariz. But police say Oliver was able to slip away before the law enforcement dragnet scooped him up, and they need your help to track him down.
Rafael Cadena-Sosa: Like many young men, FBI agents say Rafael Cadena-Sosa went into the family business. Unfortunately, in his case that business was human trafficking and prostitution, reports the FBI. Sosa-Cadena and his brothers were allegedly part of a ring that imported women and children from Mexico and forced them into prostitution.
James Reimer: Cops in Oklahoma are looking for 40-year-old James Joseph Reimer, who they say took off with 14-year-old Deborah Kalai Fourzan; detectives believe Deborah is in danger because before they disappeared, Reimer sent text messages to Deborah soliciting sex.
Carmela Cadena: Imagine being kidnapped from your home country, held captive in the U.S., and forced to work as a prostitute. This is the fate of thousands of women and children who are smuggled into the U.S. every year — and the FBI says they’re kept in line by women like Carmen Cadena, member of a family that’s alleged to run a major human trafficking and prostitution enterprise.
Deborah Fourzan: Cops in Tecumseh, Okla. are desperately looking for leads that will help them find 14-year-old Deborah Kalai Fourzan, an Oklahoma teenager who went missing on Feb. 2, 2009 and may be in danger.
Haleigh Cummings: Police in Florida have announced that they do have a sexual predator in custody who lived just a mile from missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. But, investigators say the man had nothing to do with the disappearance.
Adji Desir: Adji Desir, a 6-year-old developmentally disabled Florida boy, has been missing since Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009. Police need your help to bring him home to his family.
Tangena Hussain: On October 2, 2008, 24-year-old Jamrul Hussein was driving to the local mall to pick his girlfriend up. He had her daughter, Tangena Hussain, in the car at the time. On the way to the mall, Jamrul made a quick pit stop at a nearby gas station, but what happened next is a parent’s worst nightmare.
Marlon Lopez: Officials say that Marlon Iverzander Lopez has been evading the law for years. With a criminal history involving charges of drug trafficking, fraud, sexual abuse, and molestation, the FBI is looking to put Lopez where he belongs — behind bars.
Pedro Fajardo: Cops say Pedro Ulloa Fajardo visited his common-law wife on the evening of October 15, 2008 to hash out some differences that had been complicating their relationship. What cops know now is that Fajardo had no intention of mending their relationship — he intended to end it forever. Now, Fajardo is on the run and police are hot on his trail, but could use your help tracking him down.
Erica Smith Killer: It’s been six long years since 14-year-old Erica Smith was murdered in Northern Virginia — but questions still plague Erica’s family. Who is responsible for tearing their family apart, and why? And most importantly, when will they be brought to justice? Cops continue to work Erica’s case, hoping a key clue and some old-fashioned detective work may finally bring this case to an end and help Erica’s family find peace. -
Law Enforcement had seven cadaver dogs out today around Putnam County to help in the search for Haleigh Cummings. At one point a dog alerted police to a scent inside a dumpster in a subdivision adjacent to the neighborhood where the Cummings live. It doesn’t necessarily mean there was a dead body there, there are plenty of things that decompose in a dumpster but investigators are sifting through all of the garbage in the dumpster. According to the Orlando Sentinel they will have twelve dogs out tomorrow. -
Friday afternoon Jessica Dawn Deemer, soon-to-be ex-wife to the gentleman pictured to the left, and her boyfriend Bryce Lee Mercer were headed to Mercer’s parent’s house when Kyle Gene Deemer ran them off the road on Highway 14 north in a rural part of Marshall County, Iowa. Their car was found in a ditch to the side of the road and the couple was found lying shot to death at the side of the road. Police received a call around 5:30pm informing them of the crash and a possible shooting and when police arrived they were told that the assailant had taken off in his silver pickup truck headed north.Deemer was sighted and given chase by the Eldorado Police Department in
Hardin County. Eventually he went off the road and Deemer tried to flee
on foot. He was found and arrested later in the southern part of the
county, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is
currently being held in the Marshall County Jail in Marshalltown. -
There’s a saying here in the deep south that all you need to fix anything is some baling wire and a roll of duct tape. Been there and done that. Me and a couple of buddies broke down on the way to Connecticut one year and we fixed the throttle cable on his old VW bus with duct tape and coat hangers.Kay Erickson, a day care provider up in Lincoln, Nebraska took the use of duct tape just a bit too far though. I’m sure you can see right where this one is headed… -
Back on January 6th Brenda Caringer called 911 to report that a child she was caring for wasn’t breathing and then hung up. Three minutes later a dispatch operator got her back on the phone. She told the EMS operator that she had a baby who had fallen and hit his head and she couldn’t keep him awake. She said that when he did wake up he started screaming but that now he wasn’t breathing.Nine-Month-Old Lucas Payton Theede-Bennett was air-flighted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield Missouri. A little over an hour after Caringer’s call Lucas was pronounced dead. -
Justin Gray Smith and Patrick Preston Conners are like a lot of us. When they need to ship something and it positively absolutely has to be there overnight they choose FedEx. This time they shipped the package to the wrong address, transposing the address. Happens to the best of us guys. Fortunately for the rest of us we don’t ship pot that way. When the guys realized what a dumbass mistake they had made Justin Smith went to try and retrieve the package from the person who had incorrectly received the pound of marijuana. The same owner who had already contacted the police who were waiting there to see if someone would try and pick it up.

I managed to get out of work a bit early today after having not arrived home until 8pm last night. Waiting in my inbox was this Amber Alert for 15-year-old Patricia Acevedo. Here’s the email I was sent:
Update – Patricia has been found and is now safe at home. The S(t)ate of Texas issued the Amber Alert on Wednesday morning (2-25) after the girl was abducted in Rosenburg late Tuesday. Police say the teen is in grave danger. Police also believe that the victim and the suspect are in the Houston area.Patricia Acevedo, an hispanic female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white sweater, yellow shirt, blue pants and yellow shoes. The suspect is Angel Garcia, an hispanic male, 24 to 25 years old, 5′ 9″, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The suspect vehicle is a blue-and-white, 1999 Chevrolet extended-cab pickup with Texas license place 76D-VZ7.Anyone with information is asked to call the Rosenberg Police Department at 832-595-3700 or dial 911. -
We’ve all seen girls that look and act older than they really are. Hell, I think it’s only natural for guys to look at younger women and be interested. As men get older it’s sort of a sliding scale. The age range gets bigger but generally there’s a line in there somewhere. I think the last time I looked at a 13-year-old and was attracted was when I was, oh, about 15. Apparently that sliding scale is much more flexible with some guys. Take 23-year-old Jarrod Oliver White (MySpace) for instance. He must see something in 13-year-old girls that I don’t. That something makes me want to throw up a bit as a matter of fact.
A 13-year-old girl from the Delray Beach, Florida area somehow got it in her head that it would be a good idea to actually meet up with not just one man she met on MyYearBook.com but two of them. One of the men was Jarrod Oliver White, or Jay, and the other was David or Daniel. She had been chatting with the men online as well as through SMS and her webcam for about two weeks.I think we all know what happens next… -
Michael George Schneider pleaded no contest back in April of 1998 to a felony charge of attempting to perform a lewd act on a child. As a result he was sentenced to five years of probation. Back in December (nine years later) he petitioned the court to terminate his probation early. The hearing for that is supposed to be next month. I guess the premise is that he has been rehabilitated. I don’t guess that he’ll be getting off of probation now, and hopefully won’t be getting out of jail any time soon since he has decided to re-offend and has gotten caught. The wife of an acquaintance of his apparently at least had suspicions or her child told her something because the woman showed up at the Kissimmee Police department with 11 VCR tapes belonging to Schneider. On them they not only found sexually explicit videos of her six-year-old child along with other children as well. There were also photos of her 11-year-old daughter on his computer but it’s not currently known if they were also pornographic in nature. -
At first it seemed like a blameless tragedy. Two young teenage girls perish in a fire and their mother’s boyfriend valiantly tries to get back in to save them. Both girls died from smoke inhalation. A sad story, but once the fire marshal finished his investigation, determining that the only way the fire could have started was through arson, the story took a sickening turn.Allegedly Clarence Meyers has now admitted to having started the fire that killed the two girls and injured his girlfriend. According to the arrest documents Meyer sprayed lighter fluid on the breaker box in the basement and on a bed next to the furnace and then lit a piece of paper which fell on a sofa, igniting the blaze.

Updated – I try and keep these updated when I get the chance in order to make sure that I have the correct information posted. In the case of Louis Leddick, he had his fair trial and after an hour and seven minnutes the jury found Leddick guilt of all the charges leveled against him including predatory sexual assault of a child. The rest of the update is at the end of the post.Back toward the end of June or beginning of July Louis Leddick got out of the Watertown State Prison on parole where he was incarcerated for Grand Larceny. He served three years of a 3-7 sentence. He has no prior sex offenses nor did he give officials any reason to suspect he was anything other than your normal run-of-the-mill scumbag.

Update III – Ben Lightsey took a pleas deal and admitted to having killed his wife. As usual, the update is at the bottom of the post.Update II – Ben Lightsey filed a plead of Not Guilty with the St. Johns County court earlier today. The rest of the update is at the bottom of the post.Update – A Grand Jury has indicted Benjamin Lightsey with a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife. The rest of the update is at the bottom of the post.
A couple of weeks ago Ben and Melissa Lightsey attended the wedding reception of Ryan Leber at the A1A Aleworks in St. Augustine, Florida. St. Augustine is on the coast just southeast of Jacksonville. I don’t know what the heck they were serving at the reception but there was more than one instance of violence at the wedding.
From what I’ve been able to gather Benjamin C. and Melissa Lee Lightsey live in Saint Augustine which is just north of St. Augustine and also where the murder occurred. They have two children, Sunny Lee and Zane Lightsey. -
From my own experience living their in the summers when I was a teenager, there just isn’t a hell of a lot to do in Land O’Lakes, Florida on a Thursday afternoon or any other time for that matter. 18-year-old Justin C. Hanson found a way to pass the time though. He plays an instrument. His instrument. His organ to be exact. If I need to get any more specific than that you probably aren’t old enough to be hanging out here. That in itself is no big deal. Hey, I was 18 once. What the heck do you do when you’re and 18 -year-old boy aside from chasing skirts and playing pocket pool? The problem with Justin is that he likes to take his pocket rocket out of his pocket and play with it in the park, thus exposing himself to innocent passers-by. That would be illegal in most places. When the woman who saw him called the police they came out and searched for him. Pasco County, Florida Deputies found him hiding behind a house near the park. Apparently Justin has quite a history of indecent exposure and the officer felt that he presented a danger to the community. He’s currently locked up in the Land O’Lakes jail on $150 bond.

I just wanted to put up a quick update on some of the stuff happening in the Haleigh Cummings search. One thing that has come up today that apparently has been rumored for the last few days but which I just learned, is that a cousin if Misty Croslin’s, ‘Joe’, was in Satsuma around the time that Haleigh disappeared. He is back home in Tennessee and one of the big rumors flying around is that he is a pedophile. In a press conference with Haleigh’s paternal grandmother and aunt the grandmother told the media she he had ‘heard he was a pedophile’.Lt. Johnny Greenwood from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office disputed that rumor saying that “as far as we know, he is not a sex offender”. FBI nvestigators have spoken to Joe at his home in Tennessee but the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing any details. They also won’t confirm or deny how Croslin and ‘Joe’ are related. From what I understand, Putnam County detectives did receive a tip that Haleigh had been seen in a Carrabas restaurant in Knoxville. According to witnesses a man with the girl shielded her face and then drove off in a red Toyota Rav4 with a Florida license plate. Seems to me that if it were the cousin from Tennessee he would have Tennessee tags. More than likely it’s just someone visiting the area. I saw at least three cars today with Florida tags at my restaurant, I can pretty much guarantee that none of them had Haleigh with them either. -
I received an email yesterday that put me in tears when I read it, from a family friend of a victim who came across an entry from last year and I want to update a little bit.Back in October I posted one of many videos from Blogs 4 Borders. They focus on our border problem and illegal immigrants. One of my ‘favorite’ parts of Blogs 4 Borders Video Blogburst is the 100% Preventable segmant, which discusses crimes that could have been prevented had our government been doing it’s job to enforce our already existing laws rather than making it easy for illegal aliens to stay in this country by providing them jobs, voting rights, transportation, health care, food and education. Anyway, that’s not what this post is about so I won’t go off on any more of a tangent on it.What I did want to talk about was the segment discussed in the Video I posted on October 20th, 2008, just a few short months after 6-year-old Mackenzie Maddox was brutally run down by Jose Rodriguez, an illegal alien. -

Glen Holmes Jr.: Conroe, Texas Police say Glen Holmes Jr. carjacked Barry Thomas, before fatally shooting him in the back. Holmes then proceeded to hold up the drive-through, demanding tacos to go, before leading cops on a high-speed chase.
Michael Bresnahan: He’s accused of breaking into a house in a quaint New England town and raping a 61-year-old retiree. But after a year on the run and a manhunt that included six states, Michael Bresnahan’s run from justice has ended. AMW spoke to his alleged victim, police and the tipsters who turned him in on the opposite side of the country, in Oregon.
Unknown Tammy Vincent Killers: Almost 30 years have passed since police were called to an isolated beach 20 miles north of San Francisco to investigate a grisly murder scene that centered around the charred remains of a teenage Jane Doe. For years, cops tried to identify the girl and figure out the events surrounding her death, but it wasn’t until AMW lent a helping hand that parts of the puzzle began to fit together. Authorities now know that the murdered girl — 16-year-old Tammy Vincent — was the girl embroiled in the middle of a state’s case against a sleazy Seattle strip club whose owners, cops believe, had her killed for the things she knew.
Unknown Shannon Paulk Killer: AMW recently teamed up with Pauley Perrette, the star of the prime time crime drama NCIS, to help investigators solve the murders of two young girls: Shannon Paulk in Prattville, Ala., and Raven Jeffries in Detroit. Perrette was touched by Shannon’s story because of her own family ties to the Prattville area, so she donated a $10,000 reward to help catch Shannon’s killer.
Unknown Raven Jeffries Killer: In August 2006, 7-year-old Raven Jeffries was playing outside of her home in Detroit, Mich., when she was kidnapped. Just days after her disappearance, police say that her burned body was found in a field in a neighboring town. Now, AMW is teaming up with Pauley Perrette from the hit crime drama NCIS to help solve the case. Pauley feels a special bond with Raven’s case because her boyfriend, Michael, grew up near where the little girl was abducted. The actress has donated $10,000 reward to help find the person who killed Raven.
Lisa Williamson Killer: Actress Pauley Perrette, from the hit show “NCIS,” has helped America’s Most Wanted hunt two child killers. Now, she’s turned to AMW to ask for help in solving the murder of her friend, Lisa Williamson. -
First off, I ran across this story earlier in the evening and according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s office this arrest has no connection with the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings but it shows they are really cracking down hard.Convicted sex offender and child pornographer Timothy Loucakis lives less than a mile north of Haleigh Cummings’ trailer and has been arrested on charges that the 50-year-old man violated his curfew this past Wednesday evening.According to Sheriff Jeff Hardy they have gone back in the GPS monitoring records and those records show that he was in his home zone the night that Haleigh went missing. He is supposed to stay inside his house between 10pm and 6am and is not allowed out. This having been said, investigators will be returning to the Loucakis home to search the area. Better safe than sorry.

Yet another case of a domineering spouse equating love with control and beatings from what I can see.Back toward the end of January Michael William Ellicott had his first appearance before a judge at a bond hearing in an extremely heinous case of domestic violence. Ellicott’s wife finally fled the family home on January 20th because she was afraid that if she didn’t she was going to die. Prior to that she was afraid to leave because 48-year-old Ellicott had allegedly told her he would kill her if she reported his abuse to police. At the time of his first appearance he was denied bond until a Magistrate court could review the case, which it did so this past Tuesday. -
As law enforcement in Putnam County Florida continues to follow up on leads in the case of the disappearance of Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings I’ve read where the reward for her safe return has been increased to $16,000. This has nothing to do with the reward that Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla offered, which has since expired. As I mentioned in my post yesterday concerning Haleigh, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is also looking into the tip it received that Misty Croslin left the double wide trailer she shares with the Cummings at some point the night that Haleigh disappeared. She was last seen when she was put to bed around 8pm on February 9th. 17-year-old Misty Croslin, the girlfriend of Haleigh’s father, woke up at around 3am to find her missing.Law enforcement has reported that they have received more than 1,200 tips concerning her disappearance thus far and are continuing to follow up on the leads. The big problem with a case that continues to stay in the media is that every crackpot in the country has a tip. Keeping something in the media like this is a double-edged sword. On one hand you want it to stay at the forefront of everyone’s mind in case she is seen or someone has truly seen something of interest to the investigation but on the other you run into all of the freaks and psychics that claim to have ‘seen’ her. -

The Florida State Attorney’s Office released more discovery documentation earlier this week. In itself the information might be considered circumstantial but as more and more evidence is released it points to the only available conclusion.
Among the evidence released to the defense and the media is documentation which shows that the same type of laundry bag and plastic bag found at the crime scene were also found at the Anthony home where Caylee and her mother Casey Anthony lived. The duct tape found over the mouth of Caylee Anthony’s skull also matches that of duct tape stuck on a gas can at the Anthony home. It’s unknown (to me at least) if this is one of the “missing” gas cans.If you want to read the entirety of the discovery documentation it can be found here at the Orlando Sentinel. Witness information and the FBI fingerprint report is also available at the Sentinel as well as new photos which the prosecutor has released. -
I wrote about Dominick a couple of days ago and scheduled this post to publish this morning but due to the ugly weather in West Georgia last night I never updated it. Thanks to Steve Huff for catching my blunder. Anyway, the body of Dominick Arceneaux was located Wednesday in the lake where they initially thought he might have drowned.Amidst the news of the Haleigh Cummings disappearance and the release of more discovery documents in the case against Casey Anthony this little 3-year-old boy’s disappearance has almost gone unnoticed.Dominick Wesley Arceneaux has been missing since February 10th. Several different groups including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have been exhaustedly searching for Wesley for the last week and they are starting to hit roadblocks. At first investigators assumed that Dominick had fallen in the lake behind his home but after divers and dogs searched the lake and dragging it turned up nothing they have come to the conclusion that Dominick has most likely been abducted.

Perhaps indirectly, some of the attention from the Haleigh Cummings disappearance has been directed toward an absconded convicted sex offender in Florida known as Chad Eugene Reynolds. Chad lives a couple of hours away from Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings and due to the possible coincidental disappearance of both around the same time, he has inevitably been linked to the case even if just in the media.Chad Reynolds was sentenced to seven years in prison for armed burglary as well as lewd and lascivious molestation of a child younger than 12 earlier in the decade. I don’t have the sentencing date but the incident which got him convicted happened in September of 2002. Six years later he was released and is required to report to his mother’s home every day as a condition of his probation. He is on ten years of community supervision. -

Sgt. Kelly Keck
34 years old from West Liberty, Kentucky
Secretary of the Army Pete Geren congratulates Sgt. Kelly Keck after presenting him the Purple Heart.
On September 13, 2008, Sgt. Kelly Keck, a combat medic serving in Afghanistan, was wounded while trying to aid his fellow soldiers who’s truck had just been struck by an IED. “I stepped off the road to try to get to the side of the truck, and the next thing I know I hear a loud boom, and I’m laying on the ground,” he said. Sgt. Kelly had stepped on a land mine. He was flown to a field hospital in Jalalabad where he ended up loosing three fingers on his left hand and his right leg below the knee. “It was quite an ordeal,” the soft-spoken soldier said. These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived
