A good time was had by all Saturday. Personally I had a few beers too many, didn’t get sick, but it was close. Spent the day Sunday being pretty dehydrated. So what do I do. Hell, went outside and planted Blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry bushes. Oh yeah, and a Wisteria. Can’t wait for everything to start to grow in a couple of months. Will post some pictures once it does.
It’s back to work this morning. Seven days till New Oreleans. Damn, looking forward to it.

Slutfest and other weirdness
Been a weird couple of days. Worked the graveyard shift for the first time in over a year last night, so I had to sleep most of the day Friday. It was Slutfest, which is sort of a mini freaknik. Was pretty busy, but not too bad. Less than I would normally cook on a Saturday morning.
The web site seems to have been down most of the day. Not real sure why. I ended up rebooting the server, no problems since. I thought that maybe my ISP had blocked the port, but apparently not. My Wireless router had been acting up, so I thought that perhaps something else had happened.
Going to try and get a couple of hours of sleep, this is my weekend off and we are having a barbecue this afternoon.
Rep. Lynn Westmoreland
Did a little looking on Thomas and I am happy to say that my Congressman, Lynn Westmoreland is a co-sponsor of H.R.25 (the Fairtax Act). 28 co-sponsors right now, we need to get more people involved actively.
UPDATE – Also, Senator Saxby Chambliss introduced it into the senate as S.25, no co-sponsors yet. It has been buried in the Commitee on Finance.

I’ve added this link to my blogroll as well. desktopian.org was my main site for skinning news at one point in time. Blogging before blogging was mainstream. Still head over every once in awhile, but it has not been updated in several months. I am still into skinning, but not quite as heavy, and not into replacement shells as much as I used to be either.
Holy Shit, Batman!
Talking about the winds of change, take a look at what Senator Kennedy is saying six weeks later.

Change in the Middle East (aka President Bush' Legacy)
Back in the 80’s Ronald Reagan worked very hard to bring down socialism in Europe. It has taken years, and will take more, but he has succeeded. Will President Bush’ legacy be the Middle East? Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait. All facing the winds of change in one form or another. I suppose time will tell. As each regime changes or falls, some of the violence WILL get worse, particularly for us at home. Why? Because the terrorists are running out of places to hide and will be bringing it home to the US. Be ready.
Social Security vs Global Warming
I tend to agree here. Even if global warming is a threat, which I am not so sure of, it IS Social Security that we can fix. The Farirtax Act would be a good start.
