“Social Media”

It seems as though perhaps I fell prey to one of the downfalls of social media. The end effect of that is that I have been spending all of my computer time on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter (yes, that is shameless linking to my profiles) not to mention a few of the other sites. That’s not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself but I feel like I have lost a connection. Not to my own self but to other people, mainly those that are linked in my sidebar as well as a few others I may not have added yet.

There’s something about blogging (and participating in other’s blogs) that is much more personal than the one or two line posts on the social networking sites. Obviously I have gotten out of the habit and it may be another nine fucking months before I write another goddamn line but from here on out I think I will at least attempt to revisit some of the sites I love to read and perhaps start writing here again as well.

Don’t fucking hold your breath though…

A New Day

I’ve spent the last hour or so looking through old un-categorized blog posts for a couple of chapters of some fiction I wrote a few years back. They should be either here or at skullfuckin but for the life of me I can’t find them. Damn. If any of you run across them shoot me a line. You’ll know them by the crappy writing 🙂

I was thinking about adding to them but now I would have to recreate them so I just don’t know if I will or not. I know that I could write successfully but then the laziness kicks in. Heh.

As I mentioned in that last quick post yesterday evening, I experienced a bit of downtime on all of my sites. Apparently one of the WordPress plugins I was using had thrown a monkey wrench into the gears and I was using a crapload of CPU. My provider contacted me about it so I made a cursory examination and inactivated a few plugins but didn’t do a very thorough job of it. Personally I think it was the syndication plugin I was using to pull blog posts from my other two sites into this one. Long story short they suspended my account and I just didn’t give enough of a shit about it to fix the problem until yesterday.

I had considered just canceling my account and redirecting all of the URLs to my Google+ or Facebook pages but for some reason I never got around to it.

I have since decided that I do want to keep the blogs online. Don’t know if I will continue to blog or not but I’ve been doing it so long it would be a shame to get rid of it all.

Downtime

Sorry about the extended amount of downtime. My account was suspended due to CPU usage or some crap. I’ve disabled most of the plugins and extra stuff. Still very busy at work and don’t know when I will be back.
