Shrillary for prez?

Looks like John Kerry has all but sewn up the Democratic Presidential Nomination. One thing seems to be missing though. No endorsement from either of the Clintons, who seem to hate missing any of the limelight for more than five minutes. Perhaps that is because they don’t want the Democrats to win in 2004. That would make it extremely difficult for Hillary to get the 2008 nomination, against a sitting Democrat. There are still four more months to go until a vote is cast at the Democratic Convention, and I believe that in that time, Kerry will do something stupid, or something else along the lines of the intern story will come out to fry him, leaving noone viable to take the nomination…unless Hillary Clinton steps in, which is what I predict may happen. Four years earlier than she plans, but President Bush would have a much harder time beating her than he will Kerry.

Lazy Day

Spent most of the day fooling around. I flushed everyting on my son’s hard drive and did a reinstall of the OS, spent some time messing around with SMS and WAP trying to get my sell phone to access my HA server. Slept till 10am, that was nice. Had to get my brakes fixed. They were so bad had to get the front rotors replaced. Quick $289 spent on that. Got an oil change as well, probably going out of town on my vacation next week.
I signed up for mobile web on my cell phone, but the damn thing won’t let me access it. Pissed off about that. I am able to send an receive sms messages, but that is it. For a short time I was able to access the web. Got to my main page, as well as the blog but can’t get to the damn HA server, which is really all I want to access from it. Possibly because it is on a different port than 80. I also want to be able to post to the blog from my cell, but will wait to tackle that one until my next two days off, possibly my vacation.

Voted today, but not in either primary. Fuck them. The only other thing on the ballot is Georgia’s current flag referendum. The old flag is not on it, just the one from 2000 (or 2001), and the one that the general assembly picked last year. I voted for it because it seems like the least time-consuming and financial. It’s already all over the place, why keep fucking with something that wasn’t broke to begin with.

Jesse Jackson at work

Damn, can’t the guy keep his nose out of anything?

Jean-Bertrand Aristide said in a telephone interview Monday that he was “forced to leave” Haiti by U.S. military forces who said they would “start shooting and killing” if he refused. Aristide was put in contact with The Associated Press by the Rev. Jesse Jackson following a news conference, where the civil rights leader called on Congress to investigate Aristide’s ouster.

I upgraded my cell phone

I upgraded my cell phone last week to an LG vx6000. Very cool toy. PLaying with the camera, I took these:

Ruth                 Anna

Now if I could just figure out how to post directly from my phone instead of emailing them to myself, that would kick ass.

Lord of the Rings kicks ass

Lord of the Rings received 11 Oscar nominations. Makes up for the lack the last couple of years. I saw The Retrun of the King right after it was released, saw the other two on the day’s that they came out. All three were great. Peter Jackson did a great job on a classic trilogy. I did have a few issues with them, particularly the ending of the last. Anyone who thinks that it dragged on and on and on (it did), has obviously never read the books, as the ending actually dragged on even longer, hehe.
Overall though, they were great. I will be sure to get the directors cut DVD trilogy once it is released.

More bullshit from the War on Drugs

The government is getting ready to spend even more fucking money on the war on drugs, this time targetting prescription drugs, and how easy they are to get. Sooner or later this is going to self-destruct before they get a clue that prohibition does not work.

CNN.com – Bush policy to target prescription drugs – Mar. 1, 2004
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush’s national anti-drug strategy will for the first time target the use of pain relievers, sedatives and stimulants for nonmedical purposes, a problem that has exploded in the last decade.

Rebels Arrive in Haitian Capital

I am still not sure how I feel about this one. I don’t know enough about Haiti as I would like. I do know that the level of poverty in Haiti sucks and that Aristide has not been able to do anything about it, so this may be what is needed for the people there.
Apparently the leader of the rebel forces has pledged to support the interim President and to support the democratic process there.
Another wrinkle to this story is that U.S. Marines supposedly “kidnapped” President Aristide and flew him out of the country. If so, that was probably the best thing for him, as he would be barbecue by now.

CNN.com
Greeted by hundreds of cheering supporters, heavily armed Haitian rebels drove into Port-au-Prince today, entering the headquarters of the national police, the stronghold of supporters of former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Aristide left Haiti Sunday and is in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

The 2004 Guiolympics has begun, and basically won’t end for two months. Anyone interested in checking it out can do so here.
I will probably be entering at least one or two skins. I will post screenshots here as they are finished.
