O.J.'s Bail Set at $125,000

A Las Vegas judge set O.J. Simpson’s bail at $125k with the stipulations that he must surrender his passport and have no contact with anyone involved in the case. Wonder if they made him surrender his Blazer as well? Anyway, here are a few videos related to the case.

Time To Get Moving

As much as I don’t want to I have to get ready for work. I am just crossing my fingers and hoping that today goes better than yesterday did. For some reason I didn’t sleep particularly well last night and I am not in the mood to deal with a bunch of junk.

Meetings and funerals today and I have to get started working around the house as well to get it ready for the party on Saturday.

Don't Tase Me, Bro!!!

Saskboy left a comment on my post about the guy being tased and arrested and mentioned that he had three videos linked. The name of his post is ‘Brutal Police in Florida taser charismatic activist‘ and that in itself should tell you everything you need to know about his article. According to Saskboy:

Many people are disturbed by this disgusting act of fascism in Florida. The relative inaction of Kerry and the crowd to the out of control police thugs may say more about human nature than political disposition of Floridians. I’m not sure what’s worse though.

He also mentions that one of the videos takes up from the beginning. No, actually it doesn’t, it just picks up from where he started badgering Kerry with his idiotic diatribe. Not that I think badgering Kerry the fool is a bad thing but this guy is acting like an idiot, particularly when he basically says “I will ask the question after I educate the audience”.
Saksboy also asks:

Why were there police standing behind him before he even asked his questions?!

Just from the few videos that I have seen and the reaction to the rest of the audience this was not the beginning and it may not have been the first time that this guy was a pain in the ass, which would explain exactly why the police were standing behind him.

I don’t know if I would consider it fascism like The Huffington Post but I honestly think that arresting him went a bit too far in violating his rights. I’m certainly not saying that tasing his ass was wrong. I guess I would have had to be there to make that distinction and the police had to make a decision about what to do, so being an armchair quarterback after the fact is kind of pointless. From what I saw he needed to be thrown out of the event and if he had gone with police that might have been all that happened.

Aha, now we get to a few facts…

A university student with a history of taping his own practical jokes was Tasered by campus police and arrested after loudly and repeatedly trying to ask U.S. Sen. John Kerry questions during a campus forum.

Apparently he had a history of taping his own practical jokes. Guess what dude, the jokes on you. No wonder the police were standing there expecting something, this definitely wasn’t the first time and although we do have the right to free speech that doesn’t give any of us the right to get up and make an ass of ourselves in someone else’s forum.

According to the University of Florida Mr. Meyer was asked to leave the microphone after his alloted time ran out and he refused. You can hear that in the tape as well as see him resisting the effort of the policemen to get him out of the room.

Back To The Iron Age…

When I was growing up I remember my parents had this really cool iron candle holder on the wall. I was sort of a triangle shape with flowers and chains that ran down it to each of the arms. I’m still not sure why but that thing just brings back a lot of good memories. All of my life I have loved iron wall art, particularly sconces and other candle holders like this Bonna Wall Candle Holder.

I like candles in general anyway, so this combines two of the things I like very much. When you turn down the lights and have several candles going it looks and smells wonderful. The way that the flames and shadows dance over the gorgeous metal wall art is pretty cool, almost medieval.

After I found that candle holder I started browsing through the site and found that Wall Decor & and Home Accents has some pretty nice wrought iron decor available besides the candle holder as well as other stuff such as shelves and clocks and other architectural pieces. The old saying about your home being a castle is doubly true when it looks like one 🙂 Perhaps I was just born at the wrong time, but I could sit around and find watching the flames play over this stuff even better than television.
