One of the things that our friend in Bluffton has that I am really envious of is a huge projection television. Eventually I want to get a really nice projector but that will really only be good for movies and stuff. During normal day to day watching television I need to use a nice HDTV or projection television. I’ve been pricing some of the projection televisions on the market and over the last couple of years they’ve fallen in price quite a bit. At some point over the next year or two I will end up moving the TV we are currently using to the play room and replace it with something bigger.

Some Other Stuff For The Home Theater

Home Theater Stuff
I just finished writing about a contest over at my Home Theater Blog and of course it got me to thinking about neat stuff that I want for my Home Theater. Obviously I want to upgrade to a faster computer and I am in the process of slowly gathering equipment to build a new one. Some other things I want are a nice projector to replace my television, at least for the movie room and I also want to pick up some nice home theater furniture to fit in with the motif. Along with some theater seating it would be cool to set up some lit up movie posters behind glass as well as a couple of LED signs for the wall.
Snapstream is working on the next version of BeyondTV, as a matter of fact I am testing the beta version right now. That along with TheaterTek for my movies and DVDs and something to play music are about all of the software that I need for it.

After graduation we all loaded up and went back to the hotel room to change before lunch.
They were only able to stay a little while before driving back home.
Wednesday Hero

26 years old from Tonasket, Washington
1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry)
June 16, 2006

The love of Megan Ewens’s life arrived at Arlington National Cemetery on July 7, 2006. His ashes inside a small wooden box, the box inside a coffin, the coffin draped with an American flag and carried on a caisson pulled by six black horses.
Lt. Forrest P. Ewens had shipped out for Afghanistan in March of that same year. His wife, being the same rank in the Army, understood the risks, telling a colonel at Fort Drum, N.Y., that if anything happened to her husband, she didn’t want to hear about it from a stranger.
On June 6, 2006 Lt. Ewens and Sgt. Ian T. Sanchez were killed when ATV struck an IED while on combat operation in Pech River Valley, Afghanistan.
A few weeks before his death, Lt. Ewens called his wife from an Afghan mountain to inform her that his unit had been subsisting on melted snow and rations and that he had been writing his impressions down in a notebook he carried.
“This was the love of her life,” Megan Ewens’s mother said. “They were so well-matched and made such a good team. We couldn’t ask for a better son-in-law.”
These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Wordless Wednesday

Damn Zonker you were right, but I will still call him the boy or maybe just the Marine now.
Jessica Alba Still House Hunting
Apparently my other girlfriend, Jessica Alba is house hunting in Venice.

Always good for a bit of link bait.
More On The O.J. Simpson Arrest
Now that I’ve had a few minutes to get over to CNN and see what all of the fuss is about I figured I would post about it. Apparently Las Vegas prosecutors have filed 11 charges against O.J. Simpson and his three buddies including two counts of first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon, two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. They are holding his scumbag self WITHOUT bail. Couldn’t happen to a nicer person, the asshat. I sincerely hope he doesn’t get to weasel his sorry ass out of this one.
At least Vegas isn’t like L.A. where the jury ended up acquitting Simpson because they were afraid of thousands of black people acting like fools and rioting through the streets (even though they did anyway).
One of the victims, Bruce Fromong has had a major heart attack and has been hospitalized since Monday night and is in the intensive care unit. I suppose if he doesn’t recover maybe they can finally get Simpson on a murder charge after all of these years.
Photo Throws!
My Aunt is an artist. In addition to painting and photography she also
teaches in her studio when she has the time. Last year as gifts she painted
pillows for all of the ladies and the gifts were very well received. Ours is
great and it’s sitting on the couch right now. A couple of years back I made my
Great Aunt a T-shirt with photographs of my children on it as a Christmas gift
as well. People don’t have to receive $1000 gifts to be amazed. I know I am more
appreciative of the personalized gifts that I have received from my family and
children than any others that I have gotten. They are keepsakes to be
treasured.
One of the things that I thought when the wife received the painted throw
pillow was that it would be pretty cool if I could get a few of them with
photographs on. Apparently there are a couple of different places to get
personalized photo gifts like that and I wasn’t even aware of it until a few
days ago. VisionBedding has some really neat photo gifts such as Photo Blankets
and Pillows. Blankets!
I don’t watch much popular television which is why I haven’t seen these I suppose, but they have apparently been featured on VH-1 reality TV as well as in the L.A. Times. There are also plenty of customer testimonials to check out just in case you are worried about spending your hard earned dough.
The photos are permanently died into the pillow or blanket rather than being stitched or ironed on like most of their competitors, which gives the photos wonderful clarity, as good or almost as good as the original photo. Obviously if you only upload a small picture and expect them to print a huge blanket it’s NOT going to turn out great, so make sure that the photographs you are using have a decent resolution.
It’s easy to order as well. You upload your photos and design the product yourself by picking the picture layout, cropping your photos, choosing the border and product colors, then just preview the finished product and you are done. It can’t get much simpler than that. It works pretty much the same ways as the vinyl wall posters that I designed and ordered earlier this year. Make sure that you own the rights to the photographs that you upload as they may contact you for proof if there are any discrepancies. For more information you can call VisionBedding at 515-450-7348 or email them. Just click the blanket or one of the links above to get to the web page
Charges Filed Against OJ Simpson
Just got a text message from CNN that prosecutors have filed formal charges against O.J. Simpson, the former NFL star as well as three others after an alleged armed robbery.
Once I get a bit of time I will head on over and post some more information.
