Looks like the Fairtax book is doing pretty good. I am kind of pissed off. During the elections Johnny Isakson said that he would support the Fairtax, but from what I have read is non-commital now. If that is the case, well fuck him then. I guess until I have heard back from his staff the jury is out on that one though.

the Axis of Irrelevancy
Although I am not a liberal, there are quite a few things that he posts that I can agree with. The comments on the Million March bullshit are some of them. I mean, come on, this is the same Farrakhan that believes he was taken onto the mothership, that the US Government staged the 911 tragedy, and is saying that perhaps also BLEW UP the levies in New Orleans to kill the black people.

Another week gone
Damn, I’m not sure where this week has gone. First week back at work from vacation is always pretty difficult, and the last six days have been no exception. In addition to the long days they have put another manager trainee in my unit, so I now have him, as well as the two interns. Trying to keep me busy I guess.

I almost broke out in song, then figured my wife might kick my ass. See, Disney is not just for the kids.

I will get around to actually posting some vacation pics sooner or later.
Early mornings
Occasionally I hate the fact that I always wake up so damn early. Went to sleep about 12:30 this morning, but I was still up by 7am, which is 2-3 hours later than normal. The nice thing about it is that Stephanie and the kids are still passed out and probably will be until I get them up. I think we are supposed to do the Lilo & Stitch breakfat today over at the Polynesian resort, but not until 10 something, so I am in no rush to go back to the room and wake anyone up. Think I’ll go back outside and drink my coffee and have a smoke.
Awards
Thursday was my day off, but I still had to drive to Oxford for a meeting/banquet anyway. That sort of sucked. Had a nice meal at this restaurant that we have been using for the last year or so. Received a couple of awards. Don’t really have any place to put them, so they will join the multitude relegated to the basement stack. I prefer cash anyway, particularly when it means spending six hours on my fucking day off. I have another long meeting on monday, this time at the Galleria. Probably won’t get home until 8pm or so on Monday night. At least I already have to work that day.
Listening to the Best of Joe Walsh as I sit here. I forgot how much I have always liked that album. I have to do something about dinner soon. Anna cheered at a game most of the afternoon, and now has gone to a birthday party for most of the evening, so she won’t be joining us tonight. Too bad. T-Bones, potatoes, and maybe a salad, with Sam Adams and Red Stripe.
Sometimes work ain’t so bad
…when you are two minutes from the house 🙂
Just finished doing a Waffle Party for Anna’s class, along with my Human Resources Manager. Had a good time, as did the kids. Definately attracted a lot of attention though. Now several of the teachers want us back. It will be much easier when I can finally open a store in this town, instead of having to haul all of my shit from Carrollton. Luckily the school is about a mile from the house, so I checked Anna out an hour early and hit the door. Earliest I have been home in quite some time.
Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional?
Still not sure what to make of this ruling. It is bound to go back before the supreme court at some point. It is not actually the entire pledge, but the phrase “under god” that is the center of the contreversy. If I recally correctly, that phrase was not even in the Pledge of Allegiance until the anti-communist days of the 1950’s. I can see both sides of the argument, and really don’t give a shit either way, but there is always going to be someone who can find ANYTHING that offends them.

Sleeping in
I am normally up by 4:30 or 5:00am every day. On my days off I get up between 5 and 6. Damn, I knew it had been a long week. I didn’t crawl out of bed until 9am this morning. Stephanie said the kids woke me up, but I damn sure don’t remember it. Kind of nice to do that once in awhile. I have puttered around a bit the last hour. Watered my flowers and vegetables, had a couple of cups of coffee. Had to add a couple of inches of water to the pond, since it has been so hot this week.
It’s weird. I have had four koi die this week. Not real sure what to make of it. They were ones that I got from the other pond, but they have been fine where they are for a couple of months. Hopefully nothing is wrong with the pond. The rest of the fish seem ok though. It may be that I am just not feeding them enough. I never fed the goldfish, except for every great once in awhile.

This is the first time that I have come across this site, had to blogroll it. Nice to see others with the same opinions.
