Divers Come Up Empty in Aruba Search – Yahoo! News
One thing that I have noticed is that since there is no new BIG news that seems to be forthcoming from Aruba, any news about Natalie or the search seems to be getting relegated (sp?) to somewhere other than the front page. I really hope that they don’t let this die down. Regardless of my nasty comments that are supposedly racist (although it is mostly white people that are calling me a racist) I do want to see her found, alive OR dead, so that her family can find some kind of closure.

Long holiday week

I haven’t done much in the way of posting over the last week or so. I was off last friday, which was the only one in the last 14 days. I pretty much hate holidays, as I am usually pretty busy at work. Good for business, bad for lifestyle. Business has been pretty decent, which is nice because I haven’t lost too much to the store that opened 1.8 miles down the road from me. I was afraid of about a 20% loss in sales (which equates to about a 20% paycut), so I guess I am lucky in that respect.
I flew my sister-in-law down from Portland for her vacation, it was nice to see her. Cheaper too, considering it was that or fly Stephanie AND some of the kids up there, and find daycare for whoever stayed here.
Looks like Hurricane Dennis has been upgraded to a category 4. Had a shitload of rain here over the last week, so I am going to have to do some yardwork today before the next round. My neighbors above, and behind my house pretty much clear-cut their yards over the last two years, and since I live on a hill, I get all of their fucking top-soil when it storms. It’s bad enough that when it rains very hard, I get up to six inches of water rushing through my yard. Tore up several plants, wrecked two flower-beds, and fucked up my pond. Somehow, water gets under my pond liner, and forces EVERYTHING out. Luckily, most of the fish and plants survived. I went out and got a hard liner that I am going to put in today to solve that problem. It is slightly larger than the existing pond, so I am going to have to do a bit of digging. At least my 16 year old is, while I direct.
I have felt like shit (literally) for most of the week. Been extremely constipated or something, so have been cramping like hell. I feel a little better today, but everything is relative. Between that and my fucking never-ending sinus infection, along with my cholesteral and ulcer, I am taking a pharmacopia of medicines. Don’t need to eat for all of the fucking pills I am taking.
10 more days until my vacation. W00t! Don’t know if we will be going anywhere or not, due to the fact that it cost me $1400 to get my car out of the shop so that Stephanie and the kids could go to Hilton Head two weeks ago. I may be able to. I won a contest for a $750 travel gift certificate from work, but with my vacation being so close, I may not be abke to do anything with it yet. I may save it and try to take the kids to Disney World in October. One of the things I like about the changes to the school year is the creation of a fall break in October. Most of the heat of summer is gone, and it is much more comfortable doing just about anything.

Happy Independence Day!!

A little early, but tomorrow may be a long day at work, thus I figured I would take a couple of minutes before I eat and go to bed. Spent the last 45 minutes blowing about $100 in fireworks. The kids had a blast, let Chris light them off while I sat on my ass. Quite a few of my neighbors were also setting off pyrotechnics. Some of them had actually taken the time to drive to Alabama and made purchases that actually left the ground 🙂

Fathers

I don’t remember if I posted anything on Father’s Day, but if I did, I know that it had nothing whatsoever to do with Father’s Day. I guess maybe I was scared to dredge up shit that I don’t deal with on a day to day basis.
MY Father’s day was pretty cool, aside from the part where I had to work, but that is nothing unusual. I have worked MOST every holiday for 18 years and learned to live with it, if not get used to it. For some stupid fucking reason, Stephanie and I got married on Memorial Day weekend. That’s right, May 28th. So I get to spend our anniversary weekend fucking working. Anyone that works in the service industry can tell you that Memorial Day is the kickoff for the busiest time of the year, summer. Kids out of school, travelers, etc… My store actually slows down due to the fact that 30% of my business comes from a University, but none of the upper management pays any attention to shit like that, so I get to work just as hard as the rest of them, all through the slowest damn time of the year. Then, when my business starts picking up in September, they start screaming about cutting payroll, and other operating costs, just when I need to be spending the money. Fuck ’em.
Any way, now that I am through with that wild tangent, back to Father’s Day. I was told that when I arrived home, I would have to follow directions. When I arrived home, my daughters gave me a bath, then made me go to bed. Cool, I though, I get a nap. Mo such luck, but it was OK anyhow. After lying there for awhile, they came to get me, and took me to the kitchen, where Father’s Day breakfast was on the table, for dinner. They would have brought me breakfast in bed, but we had a slight accident on Mother’s Day (I actually had that off). I thoroughly enjoyed the attention. The kids all made me cards, and Anna bought a card, but made a picture frame from twigs and twine, and put her picture in it. It remains next to my monitor right now. I am sure it will end up in the box where I keep all of that stuff eventually, but I want to look at it for awhile.
I did manage to call my Dad, and wish him a happy Father’s Day. Had to wait until I was on the way home from work due to the fact that I get there about three hours before anyone wakes up, and by then I am extremely busy.
My Mom and Dad moved back to Georgia last year, which was very nice. I still haven’t seen much of them, as I very rarely go to Atlanta now that I am not commuting there, and they don’t go anywhere very often. They may be coming out to see us Friday, or possibly Saturday for the barbecue. That would be cool. I love my parents very much, but a lot of times feel like we are not very close. Neither of them are very much what you would call kid friendly people. They loved my brother and I, and love their grandchildren just the same, but there are just some people who are made to have kids, and some that are not. In addition to which, I was pretty much a shit head until I moved out for the second or third time. I was an asshole to my brother, too interested in partying to do anything else. Serious fucking mental problems. Once I hit puberty it was all she wrote. Ended up being locked away for six months, dropped out of high school, and pretty much just disappeared, moving in with a friend of mine and his family. I was diagnosed with manic-depression (before it became chic to have it and be called bipolar). All of that before I ever hit sixteen. Fuck bipolar. It means you are crazy you stupid mother fucker. One of the things that I have discovered as I get older is that since I know what my problem is, it makes it easier to deal with. I had serious anger management issues as well. Those are also getting better. Sometimes I just have to keep my fucking mouth shut for awhile. Of course my son knows how to set me off. He and I butt heads constantly. I am trying to learn to deal with his sullen 16 year old attitude. Some days are easier than others, but I realize that he is light years ahead of me when I was that age.
Almost wasn’t going to post this, but what the fuck.

Guess I am an agnostic

…but I could have told you that. The part that really surprised was the Satanism >: Guess that is the libetarian in me.

You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don’t believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof).

Agnosticism is a philosophy that God’s existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

Sovereign Law

One of the recurring themes that is popping up in the comments on some of my Natalie Holloway posts go along the line of: “Why doesn’t the U.S. just go in there and solve the problem?.” Well, for those folks that don’t understand International Law, the FBI cannot do that, even IF INVITED by the Aruban government. They CAN help and are helping to some extent. It is pretty clear from reading all of the reports, that Aruba is doing everything in it’s power to solve the mystery, and wants it taken care of. U.S. law would have demanded the four suspects already in custody to have been released after 48 hours, they would not be held here for anywhere near the length of time that they have been in Aruba. Without having been charged over that length of time, ends up being a violation of the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments.

CNN video is now free

In other words, no more peice of shit RealPass. I noticed that today, and thought it was quite nice. Actually watched a few videos of the dumbasses in Aruba with nothing to fucking report aimlessly wandering around and making news.
