According to the news reports I have read, two of the suspects that were arrested in connection with the Natalee Holloway case last week are going to be released from custody. Prosecutors wanted Deepak and Satish Kalpoe held for another eight days but a judge rejected that request today according to a spokesman for the prosecution.

The third suspect, Joran van der Sloot is still being held in jail. All three of the young men were the last to see Natalee Holloway before she disappeared in May 2005.

A judge is expected to rule today on whether or not to continue to hold the two Kalpoe brothers as suspects in the Natalee Holloway case. Lawyers for all three suspects were in court Thursday to argue different motions.

Also the RV Persistence and Louis Schaefer head to Aruba to help search for Natalee Holloway. Thanks to for the videos.

There is one thing I was unaware of until I saw this news report from Greta Van Susteren and that is the fact that the night that Natalee Disappeared the Kalpoe brothers were washing their car after midnight. Heck, isn’t that when you are supposed to wash your car?

Hans Mos, the chief prosecutor in the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba has agreed to meet Saturday with the parents of the missing Alabama teen.

Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway are eager to share with Hans Mos information that they have managed to gather in the two and a half years since Natalee disappeared in 2005 while on vacation with other students and classmates. Neither of the parents have provided any details on the information that they want to give to Mos.

Prosecutors are expected to bring Joran van der Sloot before another hearing next Friday when they are expected to ask a judge to keep him jailed for another 60 days.

    Murder of Emily Sander

Updated August 3rd 2008 – Israel Mireles to be extradited

I haven’t updated this story in quite some time but thought it time to go ahead and do so. Mexico finally granted extradition of Israel Mireles, the murderer of Emily Sander/Zoey Zane back in June. Mireles was arrested by Mexican authorities back in December of last year but they have just now gotten around to extraditing him. Shortly after granting extradition Mireles appealed to a higher court in Mexico. Normally that will take three to four months so hopefully by October we should know something.

Just as soon as I get more information I will post it here.

Make sure and leave a comment below and let me know what you think about this story.

Apparently a body found about 50 miles east of El Dorado matches the description of missing college student/secret porn star Emily Sander/Zoey Zane. The investigators are current refusing to give any details about the state of the body or how it was found.

Police Chief Tom Boren is insisting that her Internet activity as Zoey Zane has no connection whatsoever with her disappearance.

Boren also said that the cause of death is not yet known but that an autopsy is planned.

Police have interviewed family members of Israel Mireles and feel that they know where he is but they are not sharing that information with authorities.

This is the approximate location where the body that may be Emily Sander was found:

    Map image

According to KWCH in Kansas this is now a homicide investigation and the chief suspect is Israel Mireles.

Anyone that may have information that may be helpful to this case is asked to contact the El Dorado Police Department at 1-800-KS-CRIME

I found out why ZoeyZane.com was offline last night when I tried to get there. It has been set up as a page with information about the disappearance and a possible reward that someone (I assume the family) is trying to get set up.

Reward Funds For the capture of Israel Mireles (the Suspect of the Emily Sander Case)

We currently are working with a local bank in Kansas to setup a reward fund for the capture of Isreal Mireles. Please check back to this url for updated info…..

18-year-old Emily Sander was a college student from Kansas who was missing for nearly a week after Thanksgiving weekend. She was last seen leaving a bar in El Dorado, Kansas about 30 miles from Wichita, with a man identified by police as Israel Mireles, 24 years old, authorities said. El Dorado police found evidence of foul play after entering Mireles’ hotel room where he was living. A nationwide hunt went on to find Emily. Emily was a beautiful, young spunky girl – 5’3″ at 105 pounds. She had shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes that could light up the room. She had just started college and was looking forward to getting her degree so she could move back home to Texas where all her friends and family were. Sadly, Emily’s body was found 50 miles East of where she was last seen with Mireles, on Thursday, November 29, 2007 around 2:30pm near toronto Lake in Kansas. Emily’s life ended too soon. Her case was quickly updated to a homicide, and a nationwide manhunt is now under way for Mireles and his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend, who both started on the run just after Emily’s disappearance, known to be heading South. Mireles was driving a 2007 Ford Taurus rental car, which turned up Tuesday, November 27 in Texas, just near where he had family. Authorities believe that he is either trying to cross the Texas border to Mexico, or have already crossed the border. He also has family ties in Mexico.

It truly saddens us to see, in this day and age, that we still live in a society that ridicules a women for doing something that is completely legal. There was some incorrect information leaked to the press yesterday by a unknown individual named “David Thomas” claiming to have information about Emily’s “Porn” career. We want to set the record straight. Emily was a solo nude model whose site went live September,25 2007. She was exactly that – a solo girl. There was no interaction between Emily with any Male. It was just Emily, her fun loving personality, and the camera. We decided, a day before the media reports came out about Emily’s “porn” career, to take down her website out of respect to Emily and Emily’s family. We were unaware if Emily’s family knew of the site and didn’t want to add any unneeded stress or burden to them. The last thing we wanted was for her case to turn into a “missing porn star” case, which is exactly what the media turned it in to, which sadly took away the focus of Emily’s disappearance and the importance of finding Isreal Mireles.

If you have any information of the whereabouts of Isreal Mireles, please call El Dorado Police at 316-321-9120. Please do not call the police unless you have direct information on this case, the police are working hard to track down Israel Mireles, and unnecessary calls only hinder their efforts.

You can still get to the original site via Google’s cache here but I am glad to see it’s been replaced with the current content.

Better late than never I guess. I normally get this posted early in the day but was pretty busy at work.

    Sgt. Antwan L. Walker
Sgt. Antwan L. Walker 22 years old from Tampa, Florida 2nd Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division May 18, 2005
Sgt. Antwan Walker was excited about coming home from Iraq to celebrate his 23rd birthday with his family and friends. His mother, Andrea Pringle, was busy planning the party when an Army official unexpectedly came to her house.
She said he told her Thursday that her son was killed the previous day by a bomb blast in Ramadi. The Department of Defense hasn’t publicly confirmed his death.
Sgt. Antwan Walker, known as Twan to his friends and family, joined the Army in 2000. Pringle said her son joined to earn money for college.
“Twan had a lot of goals in life,” She said. “He was very ambitious and very smart.”
Sgt. Walker had been in Iraq for about a year. He called his family often but didn’t want to talk about war. Instead, he talked about starting a real estate career and his three children.
“He was such a good dad,” his mother said. “All he wanted to do was make a good life for his kids.”
In April 2005, Walker wanted to talk about the fighting. He told his mother five soldiers he was traveling with were killed. His phone calls became more frequent after that.
Pringle said she had days when she couldn’t eat or sleep because of her worries. But she never forgot to give her son her support.
“I always told him I’m proud and be safe”.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.

Updated – The body of Emily Sander has been found.

Maybe not a ‘star’ but it looks as if she’s been in some movies and is all over the Internet. I was reading a couple of articles yesterday or the day before on missing Kansas college student Emily Sander, who may or may not be the victim of foul play. I was going to post a bit about it, as well as scumbags like Israel Mireles whom they are looking for in connection with the disappearance of Ms. Sander.

Why’s he a scumbag? How about the fact that he’s in his twenties and his girlfriend who they are also looking for is only sixteen. That tells volumes in itself.

There’s a new twist in the case though. Friends of Emily say she lived a double life and was known as Zoey Zane on the Internet. According to her friend Nikki Watson,

She enjoyed it. She is a young teenage girl and she wanted to be in the movies and enjoyed movies. She needed the extra money. Nobody in El Dorado knew besides her close friends

Police in El Dorado, where she was last seen, say that they are aware of the web site but would not confirm one way or the other if Emily Sander is Zoey Zane or whether the site was in any way connected with her disappearance.

Apparently she had told her parents over Thanksgiving about being involved in Pornography but nobody else knew except for her closest friends. It came as a surprise to the rest of her family. I suppose everyone that surfs the web knows now.

    emilysander zoeyzane

Damn sure looks like her to me but then again who the hell knows for sure. I guess she does, if she’s found. Police suspect foul play in her disappearance and there was apparently blood found in the hotel room where Mireles lived and worked.

KAKE News has learned new details into the investigation of a missing El Dorado teenager. Emily Sander, 18, was last seen on Friday leaving The Retreat bar with Israel Mireles.

On Tuesday, the owner of Bella Casa, the restaurant that employed Mireles, told KAKE News that on Saturday he saw what he thought was blood in the motel room where Mireles stayed. Joe Terziu says he’d been called by the manager of the El Dorado Motel over concerns of damage in the room.

Major Rick Kennedy said they are looking for a white bedspread with a floral pattern that could be connected to Emily’s disappearance. He displayed a photo of the bedspread – it will be available on line shortly. Police would not say whether the bedspread was from the motel.

Kennedy said they are searching the roadside of Hwy 54 to Ft Scott and Hwy 69 south to Baxter Springs for clues. They also ask the public in those areas to be on the lookout.

Authorities in Vernon, Texas located the 2007 Ford Taurus rental car that Mireles was believed to be using. Vernon is just south of the Oklahoma/Texas border on Hwy 283, northwest of Wichita Falls.

Terziu described Mireles as a hard worker who’d worked on and off for him for the last three years. He said Mireles lived in the motel room with Victoria Martens, the 16-year-old girl from Hays who is suspected of being with Mireles now. Police say they hope to talk to Mireles ASAP in order to determine where Emily is.

Terziu said that on Friday, he gave Mireles $600 after the 24-year-old told him that his grandmother had cancer.

During a news conference Monday afternoon, police say that they believe she was the victim of violence. Although they wouldn’t elaborate, they say evidence has led them to that belief.

Police don’t believe Emily is still with Mireles. Mireles and Martens have connections in Hays and Baxter Springs, as well as in Oklahoma and Texas. Emily also attended high school in Bandera, Texas – not far from San Antonio.

Emily Sander is 5′ 3″ and weighs 105 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes. If you have any information, please call El Dorado Police at 316-321-9120.

From what I can tell, this is Emily Sander’s MySpace page and I am assuming that the dude in the picture is the boyfriend that broke up with her due to her new line of work. According to a couple of other links I found this is Victoria Martens’ page, although if that is the case then she must be just about ready to pop.

This is a picture of the two suspects in the case.

Police are also interested in anyone in the vicinity of El Dorado along U.S. 54 to Fort Scott and U.S. 69 to Baxter Springs that may see or have seen a white bedspread with a floral design on it. It may be connected to the room where whatever altercation took place happened. Since they are looking for it I would have to assume that the hotel manager reported it as missing when the authorities searched the motel.

I did just come across this FOX News story, and according to it Emily Sander’s brother Jacob has confirmed that she is the girl pictured at ZoeyZane.com, which is apparently offline along with her blog and several other related sites. Not that I was looking for porn or anything :) No, really…

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Here is the AP video from a press conference held by authorities concerning her disappearance.

    name="BGColor" value="" />

Police think that Mireles and his girlfriend may be headed for Mexico and want to catch him before he crosses the border. Being as how it’s been two days I would think that he’s long gone unless he stayed in this country. That brings another question to mind that I have not been able to find an answer to yet. Is Mireles a United States citizen? If not, is he here legally. If so, then that would explain his restaurant job and the rental car but if he’s here illegally then whatever asshole hired him in the first place needs to be charged with something since that would have made this entirely preventable.

I am not one of those people that automatically think that anyone of Latin descent must be here illegally but if the authorities think he is headed to Mexico they must have a darned good reason for it.

A judge in Aruba today granted the prosecutions request to hold Joran van der Sloot for an additional eight days on the suspicion of manslaughter in the investigation of the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway during the summer of 2005.

He was arrested on Wednesday in the Netherlands and flown to Aruba Friday where he spent the weekend in jail awaiting a court appearance.

Who else is talking about Natalee? Let’s see…

I just came across this little story at Jezebel thanks to c.a. Marks over at Alabama Improper. I guess whoever wrote the original story was offended by something on the menu where they had ‘four great reasons to eat here’ and number four was ‘your daughter might be here’ and since the writer of the story had been on a self-professed ‘Holloway Tour’ all day they assumed that the menu was a direct jibe at the missing Natalee Holloway. I don’t know, it could be, but did you bother to ask how long they had that particular menu? I have actually seen that exact thing on different menus at several different bars and I am pretty sure that there weren’t missing women from all of them that they were making fun of. Personally it seems that the writer  was feeling guilty about being on their ‘Holloway tour’ and had to put that guilt on someone else. People get jealous and possessive in exactly the same manner when they have been fucking around on their significant other. It’s something like Transference.

…Most of what I find on other blogs is basically the same thing I have here, just rehashing shit that’s already been on the news…

Found this article over at ABC News. Apparently lawyers for Satish Kalpoe are claiming that prosecutors are just rehashing old evidence by claiming that they have new technology and that it might not be legal. It certainly is legal and new evidence or old who gives a shit. If there is enough of it to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a judge then that’s all prosecutors need.

Prosecutors also feel that they have enough evidence to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that Natalee is dead, even without having a body.

Scared Monkeys, as usual, has quite a bit of information as well as opinion and I agree with them on most if not all of it. According to lawyer L. van den Eeden, who represented Joran van der Sloot in the Netherlands, his client was very emotional before departing the Netherlands for Aruba…

He has just got his life together. This arrest has now undone that like a bolt from the blue.
    L. van den Eeden

Also, according to their (Scared Monkeys) Radio Daily Commentary the mainstream media (and all of us re-spouting MSM stories are butchering some of the facts in the case.

Here’s some more news video on the case concerning the court appearance as well as some other stuff. Also apparently Beth Twitty, Natalee’s mother, is headed to the Netherlands and both she and Natalee’s husband are planning on heading to Aruba within the next few days.

It seems that even though there aren’t any limitations on closing the case, apparently prosecutors are wanting to take care of this before the end of the year. The video also includes the interview with Joran’s attorney as well.

Thanks to Scared Monkeys for the video update. Scared Monkeys has really been on top of this case for the last two years with updates from many people involved in the investigation.

A judge in Aruba ruled today that police can continue to hold Deepak, 24 and Satish Kalpoe, 21 for at least the next eight days in connection with the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway during a graduation trip in 2005.

The young men were arrested Wednesday in Aruba at around the same time that the third suspect in her disappearance, Joran van der Sloot, 20, was arrested while attending school in the Netherlands. Van der Sloot is the son of a judge serving in Aruba.

He is currently flying with a police escort from the Netherlands to Aruba and is also expected to undergo the same time of preliminary hearing that the Kalpoe brothers attended earlier today.

The three young men were, according to their own testimony, the last people to ever see Natalee Holloway.

Last year the Aruban government requested that Dutch authorities help them in the stalled investigation. Using advanced techniques they re-analyzed some of the information that had apparently been improperly investigated as well as going through cell phone records and text messages exchanged the night that Natalee disappeared. Apparently some discrepancies were found and although they have not said this is the reason for the arrests it’s pretty obvious that the Aruban police screwed up and now the investigation is on track two long years later. While nothing can ever bring the girls back it would certainly help to bring some closure to her family’s lives if they could find out what happened, and also bring to justice the scumbags that did her in or at least know what happened to her.

The two Surinamese brothers are also going to be held in separate jails for the next week while the prosecution gets their evidence ready to present. Joran van der Sloot will be appearing before a judge on Monday. The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf cites anonymous detectives in Aruba and is reporting that the new evidence is derived from phone taps of conversations between the three men earlier this year which contradicts their earlier statements to police.

Rosemary Arnold, Joran van der Sloots attorney, claims that there is no evidence and cites the fact that there have been 13 arrests in connection with Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and that the authorities have as yet to produce any kind of incriminating evidence. Arnold is also speculating that any type of evidence produced will be circumstantial at best.

As I had said in a previous post, Dave Holloway is resuming the search for Natalee in some deep sea areas. Apparently a large lobster pot went missing the same night that Natalee did and he suspects that Natalee was placed in the lobster pot and sunk to the bottom so that she would not be found.

Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, two of the suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway are to be appearing in court today for a hearing to decide if prosecutors were right in having them arrested two days ago. As I posted yesterday, and has been all over the Internet for the last two days, Joran van der Sloot was also arrested and will be extradited from the Netherlands to Aruba shortly.

According to the prosecutors, the new arrests came about because new material in the investigation has surfaced and although they have not stated what the new evidence is Aruba’s chief prosecutor Hans Mos stated that the new evidence is ‘so important that we think we should have arrested these three guys‘.

During the preliminary hearing the judge can authorize their detention for eight more days, giving police that much time to produce the evidence, at which point they go before a judge again.

Dave Holloway, the father, believes that areas of deep water near Aruba were not searched extensively enough and is relaunching a search for evidence of her remains in the area. Based on talks with a police official and a private forensic expert, he believes that Natalee was thrown into deeper waters than the depths of 300+ feet that have already been searched.

A private boat owner is providing divers, sonar equipment and the ability to map the ocean floor to the search.

As far as the arrests, Dave Holloway stated that ‘I hope I’m not going to be disappointed, we’ve seen these arrests and re-arrests in the past’. All three of the young men were first detained in 2005 and released for lack of evidence.

A district court judge in the Netherlands ordered Joran van der Sloot to be extradited for questioning in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. He will be leaving for Aruba as soon as possible.

According to one of van der Sloot’s lawyers, he was bitterly surprised at the turn events, no doubt because he thought he had committed the perfect unsolvable crime. Even without the body he could still be convicted.

Last year Natalee Holloway’s parents filed a suit against Joran van der Sloot and his father in the Supreme Court of New York. A judge dismissed the suit in August of 2006, stating that New York was an ‘inconvenient venue’ in which to try the case.

I got the breaking news alert yesterday and wanted to put something up on it last night but as I ended up working 16 hours yesterday I was pretty tired and ended up going straight to bed last night.

Police in Aruba re-arrested Deepak and Satish Kalpoe at the same time that Joran Van Der Sloot was picked up in Holland at the request of the Aruban government yesterday. All three of them had initially been arrested in 2005 but at the time prosecutors felt that there was insufficient evidence and all three were set free. They have been charged with the involvement in the voluntary manslaughter of Natalee Holloway or causing serious bodily harm to Natalee Holloway, resulting in her death according to the statement.

There is currently no information about what new information there is that has led to the arrests.

The Associated Press released this video yesterday which recaps the arrest as well as the original story:

I posted quite a few times on the case back in 2005 and the level of frustration felt by her family and the public at large was palpable.

If you’ll remember, Scared Monkeys reported quite a bit on the case and they are still posting. From comments one of their readers in Diario left:

This afternoon both the Kalpoe brothers and Joran van der Sloot were rearrested and are now in Custody. The Kalpoe brother were arrested in Aruba and Joran in Arnhem, Holland. New evidence has surfaced that warranted this measure. In an official press release, the Prosecution gave all the details to the media, except what the new evidence is. The Kalpoe brothers were arrested for two days, after which they will be brought before a judge for the prolongation of their arrest. Joran was arrested for 8 days and will be sent to Aruba as soon as possible. He too will be brought before the Judge at the conclusion of the 8 days for a prolongation of his detention. The suspects are now charged with involvement in the voluntary manslaughter on Natalee Holloway or causing serious bodily harm to Natalee Holloway, resulting in her death.

It should prove interesting the see what happens next. Aruban law is a direct descendent of Napoleonic law unlike the law here in the U.S. and there will be no jury trial. If the judge feels that enough evidence has been presented that shows them guilty that’s all she wrote.

Obviously it’s Thanksgiving and I will be working long hours this week but I will be posting more in this as time permits.

Spc. Roger G. Ling 20 years old from Douglaston, New York Company C, 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team February 19, 2004

When Spc. Roger G. Ling’s Humvee was struck by a homemade bomb in October of 2003, he survived the attack and he worked to keep his superior officer, Lt. Matt Homa, alive. Spc. Ling was riding in the backseat of the Humvee when it was hit. It destroyed Lt. Homa’s door.

“It almost killed me. From what I’ve been told, Roger helped keep me awake until my medic arrived.” said Lt. Homa. “Ling was a good kid. You could count on him to do anything.”

Spc. Ling was killed, along with Second Lieutenant Jeffrey C. Graham of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, when their unit came under fire from insurgents in Khalidiyah, Iraq. Only two miles from where he’d survived the attack just four months earlier.

Leona Ling said she was grateful her brother came home in August of 2003 just before leaving for Iraq.

“He had to have his tonsils taken out,” she said. “It was a blessing in disguise because we got to see him again.”

In phone calls home, the soldier spoke wistfully of returning to New York and going to college. “He wanted to hear about what was going on at home and all the latest family gossip,” Leona Ling recalled.

Survivors include his father, Wai Ling, a U.S. Army veteran.

Whilst at CNN looking for stuff about Bangladesh I did come across this breaking news.

A Utah judge Tuesday sentenced polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs to two consecutive prison terms of five years to life for his conviction on two counts of being an accomplice to rape, a court spokeswoman said.

The consecutive sentences mean Jeffs will serve at least 10 years. The exact amount of time he serves will be determined by the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole in the future.

Couldn’t have happened to a better man. I use that term ‘man’ very loosely as he is more of a scumbag. Here’s a report from CBC

I don’t particularly have anything against alternative lifestyles. Even homos don’t bother me but damn brother, forcing kids to get married and condoning rape of a minor is just not cool. Not at all.

He was accused of using his religious influence over his followers to force a 14 year old girl to marry her 19 year old cousin. Now I know in ages past people got married and had kids at a much younger age than they do now, but that just isn’t an argument for this type of behavior. Maybe in jail he can live out his polygamist’s dream and get ass-fucked daily by several different husbands…

Just the fact that this guy has so many followers shows me how utterly stupid the American Public can be. NoGodBlog.com concurs with this, calling them ‘stupid, stupid followers’. Save the salvation for the mindless and I will keep whatever the hell is coming for me, most likely worms in dirt and not the edible kind either.

ThinkGirl says that he was also fined $18,500 for each count. What happens with the money? Does it pay for the trial or does it go to the victim?

Hey, but guess what? They have already leaked images from his first night in the cross-bar motel…

    Don’t Pick Up The Soap!

Have fun in the cross-bar motel dickweed!!

This is my open Trackback post for Tuesday, November 20th. I am cross-posting this to several different sites as well. I only normally do it from Shadowscope however I have been working so many hours this week and need something to post on the others :)

The purpose of a linkfest is to help bloggers promote their work. The key technology used by linkfests is the trackback ping. The diagram below shows how it works. Each weekday, a new linkfest article is created on one or more of the participating blogs, and hosts sign up by either pinging the festival or using the form on the article’s main page. The host’s article is known as an open trackback post. The linkfest article keeps track of all the open trackback posts and tries as best it can to figure out each one’s trackback URL. The trackback URL is important because you ping this URL to get your article listed as part of the open trackback post.

To become a guest of the linkfest, you put links to all the hosts in one of your articles, then submit trackback pings to the hosts. This causes a link to your article to appear on the hosts’ blogs. The net result is everybody linking to everybody else.

Got this email sometime whilst I was sleeping and needed to share the latest blogburst. To go check it out at the originating website go to Blogs4Borders.

    In this weeks edition:

Enrique Morones disses Jim Gilchrist, walking out on a planned debate like the coward he is.

Our border patrol under assault on the border.

100% Preventable! Just here to work? Tell that to the family of a little Ca. boy brutally raped by one of GWB’s “good people just here to work!”

Gilchrist vs. Morones video graciously provided by our good friend Stephen AKA Lone Wolf!

This has been the Blogs For Borders Video Blogburst. The Blogs For Borders Blogroll is dedicated to American sovereignty, border security and a sane immigration policy. If you’d like to join find out how right here.

All you have to do is head on over to Linkfest Haven and use their ping form and send this entry a ping. A link to your post will show up at the bottom of this post for all to see and click on.

About half the time the track-backs end up in my spam folder but when I get home this evening I will publish them, just give it a chance. If you don’t see it here by tomorrow morning shoot me an email using the contact form on the sidebar and I will go in and find it.

I posted the other day about how gleeful I was that OJ Simpson will be headed for a jury trial. CBS news has a bit of video up about it.

One thing totally unrelated to it that I found interesting…Check out the judge right at the beginning of the video. The dude has long hair and a ponytail. It’s not that I find it distasteful or disturbing in the least. I used to have hair halfway down my back, but it was surprising to me that a judge would. I don’t know, I guess maybe I am still stuck in the conservative age or something as I get older.

I am part of the business community and I believe that as such I should look and dress like the rest of them. If/when I get to retire I am sure that I will go back to not cutting my hair again, except that this time it will have more of a Gallagher look to it…Scary thought.

GAO investigators smuggle liquid explosives and detonators past airport security, exposing a dangerous hole in the nations ability to keep these forbidden items off of airplanes.

According to the TSA the investigators only got past one level of security out of eight. My questions why didn’t they try to get through the others, or what exactly are the other levels of security that would have caught them trying to sneak it in? I would be interested in hearing more details about the investigation as well as the security procedures myself.

The GAO has not detailed the weak points since it is sensitive information but says that they can be figured out from public information.

The TSA is spouting about new technologies and ways to detect more stuff. My main concern is whether it’s automated or human? Humans are certainly fallible and there are going to be mistakes. I see us heading toward the day where you have to be strip searched before you get on a plane, or maybe even given temporary disposable clothing for your trip. It’s not as far fetched as that might seem. Thank goodness I don’t have to fly often.
