While I’ve been fairly absent from the site over the last month I certainly don’t want to forget and not post the Wednesday Hero…
Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Equipment) Airman Melissa Pyle mans a jet blast deflector station on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in the Gulf Of Oman. Theodore Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 8 are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Have Every Right To Dream Heroic Dreams. Those Who Say That We’re In A Time When There Are No Heroes, They Just Don’t Know Where To Look
This post is part of the Wednesday Hero Blogroll. For more information about Wednesday Hero, or if you would like to post it on your site, you can go here.

Thanks for serving our country proudly in the most dangerous environment in the entire naval fleet. The flight deck. After my 3.2 yrs on the o-10 level of CVN-72 Ole abe, from precomm through the end of my career, I had mad respect for those serving in that fuel infested hell hole of noise and confusion. My next round of tequila for my patrons at my bar in Mexico. about 20, go to you and everyone like you kickin ass every day on the dirty smelly hot dangerous flight decks of our proudest fleet. BTW, your picture and tribute has been posted on a loop on my lcd over the bar with other relevant heroes whos parents live or visit here in Merida. Thanks girl. B man and all our compadres in Mexico. Vive la Buena Vida!
