This sucks. I have a damn cold and am supposed to be going to New Orleans tommorow. Guess I’ll be buying a box of sinutab today. Got up a bit early so that I could get some stuff done at work and maybe leave at a decent time this evening.

Just bought plane tickets and hotel rooms for Stephanie and I towards the end of March. Woot! Arranged for childcare for Anna and Ruth. I will still need to call one of Christopher’s friends (parents) to see if he can stay over for a couple of nights. Stephanie and the girls are out on spring break that week, but Chris is not, so he will have to stay with a schoolmate.

I cannot remember the last time that Stephanie and I did ANYTHING for more than one day without at least one of the children. I am sure that we have, but I don’t remember when. Possibly our anniversary 17 years ago.

Goddamn I am looking forward to this. Going to be too expensive, but fuck it.

Will have to make sure to take my camera. If I can get ahold of a laptop for the weekend I may do some blogging. Otherwise will just have to save everything and post when I get back.

Just got back this afternoon. Tried to post remotely, but for some reason it wasn’t working properly. Spent the week in Hilton Head. Was definately a blast. Took a few pictures, I will try to get time to post them tommorow.
Went out and bought a new grill this afternoon, and a shitload of brick, finally finished putting in a small patio around 10:30 this evening. Not perfectly even, but I think it looks pretty fucking good. Put it in a few feet from the goldfish pond which is doing fairly well.

Damn, almost here again. Haven’t gone anywhere since my damn van broke down in Virginia last June, just basically sat on my ass the last two or three vacations. I am ready as hell for this one. Going to see S friend in Hilton Head Island, woot. If we could only ditch the kids it would be even better. Almost pointless though, since she has six children. What the hell, six or nine, once you hit more than one, it’s the same loudness level anyhow.

Vacation is starting to get boring. I’m broke as fuck, can’t go anywhere, starting to go stir crazy. Have a bunch of stuff to do over the next few days thoug. Have to go back on Thursday. I need to do some yard work, and want to move my furniture around. This is basically how the last vacation went. Ready to get the fuck back to work.
It has been nice to be at home with the kids though (at least the two that I get to see for more than two minutes at a time). Read a couple of books, which is something I don’t get to do very often. I have also ripped around 50 cassettes the last couple of days. Barely made a dent though unfortunately. Luckily I have about 160 gigs of free space for them. hehe.
Just beat the god damn dog for chewing up a pair of panties. I think everyone is ready for me to get rid of the puppy. I just brought it home because they said it would be nice for Riley to have company. I’ve been ready to toss both of them out of my car at about 70mph for awhile. I hate having pets. Cats are ok, I grew up with them, but then you have to clean the damn litter box all of the time, or they are shitting on your clothes and plants and stuff. The puppy already chewed through some of my wiring. If it does it again, I may kill it if the electricity doesn’t first.

Finally on vacation until next Thursday. Stephanie and Anna are also out on Spring Break next week. Chris does not get his until April. Too bad I’m fucking broke. We were going to go to Hilton Head, but her friend has had a death in the family, so I guess we will just end up hanging around the house. I have a bunch of yard work to do anyhow. Just finished scrubbing the kitchen floor, and am going to rip a couple more cassettes before lunch.

The ended up leaving a day later than expected, but have gotten there safely.
The only sucky part is that they get back in town Sunday evening, and I have to leave town for four days on Monday for training classes.
