The last few days I have felt like my head is going to explode. Sinus headaches, congestion, runny nose, and all kinds of nasty shit in my lungs. Pretty much bronchitis.
Stephanie made the appointment, I guess so that I didn’t weasle out of it. My prescription for Protonix has run out anyway, and I am late for some lab work, so I guess it is as good a day as any.
Since I have to have blood drawn, I haven’t had anything to drink or eat. That is the only part that sucks. I have been up for two hours with no damn coffee. It’s not right or natural.
Finally got seen by the doctor. Two fucking hours later I am waiting in the lab to get my blood drawn. So much for my fucking one day off this week.
It is after 10am now, finally finished and I get to go to Wally world and wait on my prescriptions. Damn.

Youth
One of the things that I have drifted away from over the last few years is hiring the pretty young things. It is nice to have eye-candy, but one of the things I have learned is that for the most part, anyone under 30 is pretty much unreliable. Of course there is always the exception to the rule, but for the most part, I think it is true.
Unfortunately for me today, two of my three 2nd shift associates fall into this category. Therefore I get to stay an extra shift to babysit and mediate. lazy fucking cocksuckers.
All about the damn paycheck
Looong week. I have been averaging 14 hours a day for the last couple of week, and can feel it. I am pretty much whipped. This time of year my costs always go up, back to school and all that. When sales fall off, people are still going to make money even at my expense unfortunately, so I end up spending more time there just to make sure everything goes where it should.
Free handouts
Getting ready to go to the bank, and was musing on why people expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. I got to listen to one waitress today bitch about how she’s not making any money. She didn’t appreciate my suggestions very much.
1. Show up for work ontime.
2. Quit trying to leave early.
3. Quit spending half the day outside smoking.
4. Quit telling customers about how you are not making money.
After almost 19 years of doing this I have become a very patient person, but right now my patience is being worn thin.
Pleased with myself
…although that doesn’t take much. I managed to get my pda connected to the net through my cell phone. W00t! Now can get online ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. Damn, I am a geek sometimes. Will come in handy on trips though. I just need to get hooked up with a couple of extra batteries now.
A bit of skullduggery?
…or skullfuckery? You tell me.
Something I miss dearly
Since Stephanie quit smoking last year, I used to only smoke in the basement or the bathroom. When I made my feeble attempt earlier this year, and started smoking again, I decided not to subject anyone else to it, and don’t want my damn house smelling like smoke. I have been smoking outside since. One of the things I miss most particularly in the morning is having a cup of coffe, a smoke, and taking a big old healthy dump. Not much better, except perhaps sex.
The U.S. Constitution
I am a confirmed believer in our Constitutional Government (not Democracy)and republic. I found this very interesting. It is the speech that Ben Franklin wrote for the last day of the Constitutional Convention, and James Wilson gave (because Franklin was too weak).
Speech of Benjamin Franklin – The U.S. Constitution Online – USConstitution.net
Mr. President
I confess that there are several parts of this constitution which I do not at present approve, but I am not sure I shall never approve them: For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged by better information, or fuller consideration, to change opinions even on important subjects, which I once thought right, but found to be otherwise. It is therefore that the older I grow, the more apt I am to doubt my own judgment, and to pay more respect to the judgment of others. Most men indeed as well as most sects in Religion, think themselves in possession of all truth, and that wherever others differ from them it is so far error. Steele a Protestant in a Dedication tells the Pope, that the only difference between our Churches in their opinions of the certainty of their doctrines is, the Church of Rome is infallible and the Church of England is never in the wrong. But though many private persons think almost as highly of their own infallibility as of that of their sect, few express it so naturally as a certain french lady, who in a dispute with her sister, said “I don’t know how it happens, Sister but I meet with no body but myself, that’s always in the right-Il n’y a que moi qui a toujours raison.”
In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other. I doubt too whether any other Convention we can obtain, may be able to make a better Constitution. For when you assemble a number of men to have the advantage of their joint wisdom, you inevitably assemble with those men, all their prejudices, their passions, their errors of opinion, their local interests, and their selfish views. From such an assembly can a perfect production be expected? It therefore astonishes me, Sir, to find this system approaching so near to perfection as it does; and I think it will astonish our enemies, who are waiting with confidence to hear that our councils are confounded like those of the Builders of Babel; and that our States are on the point of separation, only to meet hereafter for the purpose of cutting one another’s throats. Thus I consent, Sir, to this Constitution because I expect no better, and because I am not sure, that it is not the best. The opinions I have had of its errors, I sacrifice to the public good. I have never whispered a syllable of them abroad. Within these walls they were born, and here they shall die. If every one of us in returning to our Constituents were to report the objections he has had to it, and endeavor to gain partizans in support of them, we might prevent its being generally received, and thereby lose all the salutary effects & great advantages resulting naturally in our favor among foreign Nations as well as among ourselves, from our real or apparent unanimity. Much of the strength & efficiency of any Government in procuring and securing happiness to the people, depends, on opinion, on the general opinion of the goodness of the Government, as well as well as of the wisdom and integrity of its Governors. I hope therefore that for our own sakes as a part of the people, and for the sake of posterity, we shall act heartily and unanimously in recommending this Constitution (if approved by Congress & confirmed by the Conventions) wherever our influence may extend, and turn our future thoughts & endeavors to the means of having it well administred.
On the whole, Sir, I can not help expressing a wish that every member of the Convention who may still have objections to it, would with me, on this occasion doubt a little of his own infallibility, and to make manifest our unanimity, put his name to this instrument.
Sounds like Socialism to me
…or Unions, seeing as how they are the same thing.
The All Spin Zone
Freedom and Democracy?
I have been a supporter of President Bush since early on. Prior to that, I have voted libertarian (I still do when I have a chance, but during the latest election cycle I voted for more Republicans than usual. Prior to that (my early 20’s), I voted a mix of Democrat/Libertarian.
I have also supported the War in Afghanistan/Iraq that is going on. I firmly believe that we were right in taking out Saddam Hussein. Should have been done in Operation Desert Storm. I think that the Iraqi people should be able to decide for themselves what sort of government that they want. No matter what, minorites and women need to have a voice though. Apparently we are backpeddling on some of this and are going to allow the majority in Iraq to base the constitution on Islam. Of course we have no right to decide what the constitution says, or what it is based upon, but as Americans, we do not have to support the creation of just another islamic based government.
I feel like I have been had. Back to voting libertarian I suppose, even if some of them ARE a bunch of fucking crackpots.
