There is a list of statements made by people who are now routinely calling President Bush all kinds of names circulating around the internet. Here is the list as I have seen it:
“One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line.” President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998.
“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.” President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.
“Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face.” Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.
“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.” Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998.
“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.” Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. “Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of Mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.” Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.
“Hussein has … chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies.” Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999.

John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.
Hypocrites? You might say that.

   Was reading some news reports over at CNN and came across one about the aftermath of Isabel. Harris-Teeter, a privately owned grocery store, was giving out bags of ice. Private corporations, including the one I work for, do this kind of stuff all the time. When there is an emergency, that is not the time to be gouging people, but taking care of them, even at high cost. One of the people there made the comment:

“Why is a private store the place that we’re getting ice, and not the federal government?”

   Personally, I believe this is the way it should be. Yes, in an emergency such as this, the government should be somewhat involved, but only minimally. Private donations, and help is the way to go. The Federal government just needs to stay out of things and let people learn to be responsible for themselves.

   Why is it that most of the sites that I come across are either Republicans lambasting the Democrats for being weasly liars that lean toward socialism, OR Democrats complaining about how the Republicans, particularly Bush, are totalitarians who are going to bankrupt the country. Blah blah blah. There is a touch of truth to all of them though, from what I have seen.
   Of course, there is also a great bit of expounding on untruths as well. I find this particularly distasteful, particularly since most of these fucking geeks couldn’t bear to be parted from there computer world long enough to go out and vote. There was a Newsweek Poll last week that reported that 51% of Americans approve of the job that Bush is doing, 42% disaprove, and 7% don’t know. Since only approximately 33% of the American public can bring it upon themselves to do their constituional duty and vote, it doesn’t matter what the other 67% fucking think. You want to approve or disaprove of something the government is doing, vote or shut the hell up.
   I would probably be in the category of “don’t know” simply because there are certain things that he has done and is doing that I like, and some that I do not. I did not vote for Bush, nor did I vote for Gore. Normally I try to vote Libertarian unless it is just some whacko that I cannot stomach. That having been said, I am damn glad that Bush was at the helm when 9/11 went down. I do not think that any of the other candidates would have handled it quite so well. Now that we are past that, and we ARE past it, I find myself starting to disagree wholeheartedly with the administration. Instead of hunkering down and fixing our security problems, such as our borders, air travel, and ship travel, we are slowly letting our rights be taken away by such idiotic acts as Patriot I and II.
   Now that it looks (at least currently) like Bush is starting to lose support, Hitlary seems to be toying with the idea of running for President now, instead of 2008, which is when most people expect her to run. This would be disastrous for our country. Bill Clinton has made the statement that he is sure that the people of New York would forgive her if she decided to run for President, just as the people of Arkansas forgave him. Why would he say such a thing unless she were seriously considering it?
   Anyhow, this started out as a discourse against other blogs. I do enjoy reading quite a few of them, even if they are ill-informed, ot just plain wrong, but think it is time that people started really looking into just what the truth is, and trying to find it, instead of just believing everything that they read or see on CNN or FOX.

   I think that what actually gets me about how the democrats talk about the “wealthiest americans”, and how our tax cuts should be rolled back for this and that is because that makes ME, and probably you, one of those wealthiest. In the U.S., the top 10% of wage earners already pay 90% of the income tax. In order to belong in this TOP 10% of tax payers, you have to GROSS (not bring home) $90,000 per year, as a couple. That means that if you and your wife are cop and a teacher, two of the lowest paid public workers, you are probably in the top 10% of income producers in this country, and the democrats want to take away more of your hard earned money. These are hard facts, not bullshit.
   Basically this means that if I quit my job and start collecting welfare I could probably keep more of my money. That sucks. I work my ass of just to make ends meet. I have a car sitting in my driveway with a broken water-pump because I cannot afford to get it fixed, and according to the goverment I am rich. I shop at the consignment store for my slacks because I am rich. I have to count change for gas money some days and I am rich.
   If the goverment really wanted to fix things, they would do away with the IRS entirely, and go to a fair sales tax. But they do not want to fix it. It gets them elected. Thus, the democrats can scare old people by moaning about how the republicans want to take away social security, blah, blah, blah, while the republicans can complain about how the democrats are going to tax us to death. It’s all about politics. If YOU really want to help fix things, get your ass off the TV couch and vote. Elect people that don’t want to be there. Get some doctors, and cab drivers, and business owners, and vets, and garbage men that will serve and get the hell out in a couple of years because they just want to make things really better for their families and then go home to them.

John Kerry said, “If I am President, I will rollback the Bush tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans so we can invest in education, health care, and the skills of our workers. But I want to give the middle class a tax cut, not a tax increase. Too many middle class people are getting pummeled everywhere they turn – more bills to pay, a higher cost of living.
What a crock of shit. I AM the middle class, and the tax breaks I have seen from the Bush administration have been wonderful. Bush and his ilk could all use a bit of help getting back to the smaller government mantra that they used to preach, but his economic policy has been pretty good so far. Kerry wanting to “invest” in education and health care means that he might give you a tax break, but thats because they will actually go up in order to pay for his version of education, and health care. What the hell kind of break is that?

George Bush has now approved the resumption of a program to shoot down civilian aircraft suspected of being involved in the drug trade. Mind you, there need to be no proof that the civilian aircraft was actually involved in drugs … just a suspicion. No trial, no jury. You do remember that a fighter jet attacked a Cessna in Peru a few years back. A Baptist missionary and her infant daughter died. All for this ridiculous war on drugs.
You’ve read that thousands of old folks are succumbing to the heat in France . Why? Because they don’t have air conditioning, that’s why. And why don’t they have air conditioning? Because electricity is so expensive in that “advanced” nation that most people simply cannot afford it. Oh, by the way … you can blame government regulation and taxes for the high electricity prices.
