$20,000 REWARD OFFERED FOR IDENTITY OF “BELOVED DOE”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today placed “Beloved Doe” on its “Wanted – Seeking Information” list, along with a promise of a reward offered for information leading to the identification of “Beloved Doe”, his parents, or caretaker. “Beloved Doe” was the nickname given to an unidentified male child, whose remains were discovered in a dumpster inside the Willow Creek Apartment Complex, address 7575 Office City Drive, Houston, Texas on the morning of Thursday, March 13, 2003.

The Houston office of the FBI is joining the Houston Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety’s ongoing investigation into the death of this unidentified child in the hopes of generating the information needed to solve this case.

“Beloved Doe” is believed to have been a white male, possibly of Hispanic descent, between 3 to 6 years of age. Evidence recovered in the case suggested the possibility that the child received prior medical treatment, perhaps at a hospital or other medical facility. A medical examination of the body indicated the child died of malnutrition and dehydration. No other signs of abuse or injuries were indicated in the report.

At the time of his death, “Beloved Doe” was wearing a white disposable diaper with bears depicted on the front. He was wrapped in a gray Afghan-style blanket and placed in a red and white checkered plastic bag. “Beloved Doe” had a surgical scar on the right side of his neck, two vertical scars on his abdomen, and a small mole on his right forearm. He had close-cropped hair, bushy eyebrows, and long eyelashes. His right ear was larger than his left ear.

Investigators have reason to believe there may be individuals who have information pertinent to this investigation, but for unknown reasons, have not yet come forward. Information about suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities in the area of the Willow Creek Apartments in March of 2003 could be extremely important to this investigation.

The Houston office of the FBI is offering up to $20,000 for information leading to the identification of “Beloved Doe”, his parents, or caretaker. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000 or toll free at 1-888-FBI-IDEN (1-888-324-4336). For any information originating outside the United States , contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate.

I was pretty stressed out yesterday when I arrived home I ended up not getting online except to briefly check my email, then just watched TV with the girls for the evening. I needed the break for awhile.

Yesterday was just one of those days at work that make you not want to be there. I was at my slow store yesterday and for the most part the manager at the store pretty much just lets the employees do whatever they want. I don’t know if he just doesn’t care or if he is afraid to couch and train them for some reason. Either way that makes it difficult for me to go in, particularly when it is busy during the weekend, and have them doing 90% of their job wrong.

I was short-handed to begin with, and two of the three waitresses are really weak. One of those two is extremely lazy to boot. Normally I will make sure to correct mistakes throughout the day, whether in what they are doing, or how they are calling orders out but I actually snapped one her at least twice yesterday. The second time I was a real dick and felt pretty bad about it afterward but I am getting real tired of going in and explaining the same things week after week and then going back the next week and seeing the same stupid shit.

Toward the end of the day she really got worthless. The end of the shift is the time for cleanup and sidework. About 1:30 I gave the waitresses a list of the things they needed to finish. While the place looked like it had been extremely busy it really hadn’t and they should have been able to finish their stuff. I had already finished my cleanup, as well as caught up their dishes that had been behind all day and was sitting in the office doing paperwork when I look up to see one of the waitresses working her ass off and the other two sitting on their asses at the counter. One of them was at least checking the credit cards. The other was just sitting there eating like nothing was going on. I though my fucking head was going to pop off. I flew out front and told them they needed to finish their sidework and they weren’t getting paid to just sit around. The one girl checking the credit cards got up and the other just blithely ignored me and continued eating. Rather than get in the midst of something I couldn’t fix I just clocked her out at quarter ’til and she won’t be working with me on the weekend again. It’s been awhile since I’ve had anyone show that much fucking disrespect and lack of giveashit about the people that they work with.

Updated 2-2-08 — Joran Van der Sloot was interviewed again on the show Pauw & Witteman yesterday and made the statement that he had nothing to do with Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and that he had lied when he privately told someone he was involved.

“It is true I told someone. Everybody will see it Sunday. This is what he wanted to hear, so I told him what he wanted to hear” adding that he had built up a relationship with the man but had never fully trusted him.

According to his lawyers, the confession was obtained by an Aruban employee of DeVries who was handsomely rewarded for winning Joran’s trust and betraying him , although according to Joran’s statement he never fully trusted him. I guess he’s not choosy about who he spouts lies to, as the past has shown us.

Updated 9:55 p.m. I have posted several times today but my damned blog won’t rebuild and my host keeps telling me there are no problems. Apparently the fact that the last six entries plus this one that I have edited several times is a figment of my imagination. Anyway, Equivocation Nation is also keeping us updated on the case as well. ABC has apparently purchased the video for an undisclosed, very large amount and Peter Cuomo is flying to the Netherlands to interview Peter DeVries.

Updated 9:45 p.m. The Aruban prosecutor has requested that Joran Van der Sloot be arrested based on new evidence, sources have told CNN. Hans Mos, the chief prosecutor said that he expects an answer from a judge as soon as Saturday or Sunday. If the judge rules that he can be arrested he would be brought back to Aruba for detainment and more questioning.

I mentioned yesterday in my post about Peter R. DeVries that prosecutors in Aruba were looking at the case again and sure enough, they have decided to reopen the case, 33 days later.

In a statement made earlier today the public prosecutor’s office in Aruba said “The recordings made available to the Public Prosecutor have given the Public Prosecutor a reason to reopen the investigation”.

They haven’t made any references to the possibility of arrests but I am sure that will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

DeVries is supposed to be broadcasting a Secretely taped confession on Sunday by Joran Van der Sloot. It’s not clear exactly what he has has confessed to but obviously since Aruba is reopening the investigation  it will either be her disappearance or murder.

Gary Michael Hilton pleaded guilty today in the death of Meredith Emerson on the North Georgia Mountains. A plea agreement was signed earlier today and he was quickly sentenced to life in prison without parole.
